Marion came round for coffee this morning and after a while told me (with some difficulty) that she would not be coming to the Portsmouth group meetings anymore. There are several reasons why, one is that she is very involved with caring for her grandsons after school and secondly she has a lot of other commitments and is sometimes unable to get to our meetings. The other reason is that Marion does not really enjoy knitting or crocheting and feels that she does not contribute enough to our group. She will be missed at the meetings because she always joined in the banter but I fully respect her reasons for pulling out. I will still continue to see her socially anyway as she lives in the same village and we were mates before LH.

Who will sew up our blanket squares now? :D

Oh that is such a shame - we did miss her last week.
Her smiling face was contribution enough :D
Give her best wishes from me and Margaret when you see her please.

Marion, please keep in touch with the group even if it is just through the LH site. I haven't met anyone yet but feel part of the team. Take care, Sally x (Paulines daughter)

I'm sorry to hear that, but appreciate her reasoning.
Thanks for letting us know Lynn. x

What a shame - maybe Marion could still pop in to a meeting now and again just to keep in touch with all her new friends. She could also still sew up the squares for the group from home if she likes doing that and would still be able to feel as if she was part of LH that way :0) (Kellly would agree with not being too keen on the knitting part - she is happy to be our finisher and will sit for ages stuffing and sewing up boobs and toys - in fact anything that does not involve pointy sticks and wool in the same operation xx).

Sorry to hear that Marion will not be coming to the meetings- hope it was nothing to do with my driving her over to Cosham!!!!!!! We will miss her. :(
I am sure we will still be in touch though. A pity she does not have a computer to be able to keep in touch that way.
I am pretty sure SOMEONE will offer to sew up the squares for her!

It's a shame to hear that Marion will not be coming back but I fully understand what she is saying. We will miss her smiling face but she can always pop in when she feels like it in the future. Our group is about friendship as well as knitting and she will always be welcome.

Give her my best wishes Lynn.

Molly

I will send everyone's good wishes to her next time we meet up. Marion does not have a computer so sadly she cannot even join in with the forum. Perhaps Pauline and I can persuade her to come with us one evening to see everyone. She did enjoy the friendliness of the group.

:) Hello, I have been reading about Marion and would just like to say that although I am unable to get to the metings due to health probs I still feel like a member of the Cosham group. (When I rec'd a Birthday card this year I was very touched by the thoughtfulness behind the card.) If Marion could continue sewing together squares at home in her own time - no rush, hopefully she would still feel like a member too.

Hello Lynn, Please add my thoughts when you see Marion - I shall miss her smile and the interest she took in everything and everyone at the meeting. It isn't only knitting and crochet but friendliness as well. I do hope that she will join us occasionally just for fun and chat - we need the nattering to help the knitting along! Love to her and you
Jean
