On Thursday 3rd September the Carrickfergus Branch of Loving Hands will be one. So in true style, we are having a party. Michelle from Blythswood Care will be coming out to see us, having a chat and we will be giving her some donations for their current container.

Our supercook Jackie is baking us a birthday cake and we will be having a lovely supper.

I will be taking photos on the night and posting them here for everyone to see.

The following photos are of the donations that are ready to go to Blythswood:

I will have totals of everything that has been donated over the year and this should be a great encouragement to the girlies.

Watch this space for photos of our party ..........

Beautiful work again. So much completed too. What lovely matching colours. That is always my problem, what to put with what. But your work gives me some ideas. Thank you. Happy 1st birthday

To celebrate our first year up and running, we had a brilliant party, loads of laughter and loads of goodies. We had a great crowd out, joining me was Barbara, Heather G, Jackie, Dorothy, Georgina, Pat, Anne, Hilary, Heather, Margaret, Gillian, Rebecca, Ingrid, Jennifer and Rosemary. Michelle from Blythswood joined us and was delighted with our donation, she spoke to the girls and told them how much everything that we have done is appreciated. Pat also celebrated her 55th wedding anniversary - fantastic!!

Well girlies - here we go - party photos:

Firstly, many, many thanks to our supercook Jackie who baked us the most gorgeous madeira birthday cake. She covered the cake with hearts and hands to represent Loving Hands and we appreciate all her effort with that. Also, she brought homemade apple puffs and german biscuits - yumm!! Here is her cake:

Finally, I thought I had escaped the camera but was caught at the end:

Most of the girlies realised that I am easy confused and left their weeks donations to next week (thanks girlies).

Heather, hasn't been well lately, but gathered up this selection:

Rosemary completed this lovely blanket:

Our ever faithful Noel sent us his usual supply of hats:

Finally, I counted up how much has been donated over the past year, and here are the totals: 256 blankets, 18 adult jumpers/cardis, 175 childrens jumpers/cardis, 404 hats.

Well done to everyone who has supported us over the past year and I look forward to many a laugh in furture meetings.

Cherryl xx

That cake looks great. The wires to me, represent our work reaching out to those who have a need of it. It’s a nice touch having it decorated with hearts and hands. And the work handed in look’s nice too. It was a great celebration. Well done all. S S
