Hello Elaine

Please pass on best wishes to your husband for his op and know that we will be thinking of you both. Its getting a bit clooser now.
How is your knitting going? When my husband went in for a new hip I kept running out of wool.
Best wishes Silver

Hi Elaine, hope all is going well.

Only just read your message so would like to say I am thinking of you and your dh.
I am sure everything will go well at the time of the op. In the meantime he is in the right place. You seem to be lovely and calm, so try to carry on like that and think of the NEW man he will be after he gets home x from Vera

I`m not REALLY calm at all, I just try to put on a brave face for DH and the family, but to be honest, I have a very soggy bit on my pillow sometimes. It`s very tiring going to the hospital and trying to keep some sense of normality in the family life for my two teens still at home (and the dogs - they know somethings up because `dad` isn`t in his greenhouse keeping them company) Had a sneaky peek at his notes and they say that his op is scheduled for the 7th July or POSSIBLY might be brought forward to the 2nd.

I took some `me` time on Saturday morning and went looking for shoes for my brother`s forthcoming wedding, but I HATE shopping, unless it`s for wool. Got a few balls while I was out - as if I haven`t got enough hidden all over the place - but I`m not keen on chocolate so wool is my `vice` and it`s not fattening !!!!

Off to bed now as I`m `cream crackered` to put it nicely.

Elaine.

There is no shame in crying, Elaine. It shows you are caring and have feelings but it is so thoughtful of you to be putting on your brave face to spare other peiople's feelings. We are all behind you on this and send our love and support.
Love Mad Maureen X

Just read about your hubby, Elaine. There's nothing worse than having to wait but he is in the right place to go to surgery straightaway. He'll be getting excellent 24 hr care which gives you the time to look after yourself for when he comes home. Best wishes coming to you both lol Andrea

Hope you have some news re the op date now Elaine. Waiting is horrible. At least don't feel you have to put on a brave face here - between the 600 -ish of us, we will have broad shoulders for you. Take care of yourself.

Sorry you're feeling so down Elaine, but it's totally understandable. I sometimes wonder why we all feel so certain we have to keep up a brave face. Sometimes when horrible and worrying things happen I really think it would be helpful to wail and yell and generally let it all out. My daughter cancelled her wedding with 6 weeks to go, it was so upsetting and sad and also (although I know that shouldn't matter) cost us thousands. I ran upstairs and screamed and shouted for about 5 minutes which worried my husband to death, but it made me feel tons better. So give it a go, find somewhere you can let it all out and go for it. It does help. Anyway, really hope all goes well for you and your husband.

Just read this to day Elaine. Sorry to hear your hubby has to wait so long. I hope the waiting will soon be over as that is the worst of it. There will always be someone hear to listen and try to make you feel better. Wil be thinking of you.

Hi all, not been around much lately, too busy dashing around.

Well, DH is set to have his operation on 2nd July - this coming Thursday. He got his official letter so we are counting down the days now. I`m not looking forward to the next few days at all.

He says he`s not bothered about it, but I think he`s just trying to keep my spirits up - just as I`m putting on my brave face for him. What a pair eh ?

I don`t suppose there will be much knitting done as my brain is going round in circles. Can`t concentrate on anything for more than five minutes.

Elaine.

Hi Elaine

All best wishes for your husband's operation. I know just how you are feeling as my husband is waiting for an urgent gall bladder removal operation and the waiting is sometimes unbearable. We will all be thinking of you both and that your husband will be fit and well very soon.

Molly

We are all very anxious for news now Elaine - hope all went well today with Jim's op - I did pm you earlier to let you know you were in my thoughts - hopefully we will hear from you tomorrow with all the news of how things went (and hopefully you will be feeling so much better now it is all over). Gentle hugs for ken and a big squeeze for you - I'm sure you need it right now xx
