Well it looks like I`ll have the perfect opportunity to try a Sands blanket.

My husband went to his cardiac rehab class today and I got a phone call to say that they weren`t letting him home as he has a fair bit of chest pain which would not go away. They have admitted him to the coronary care unit and say that he `might be with them for a wee while` it would seem that they might be going to bring his bypass and valve operation forward as he is having problems. He found out today he was scheduled for the op about the 8th July anyway, so it looks as if he might have it fairly soon.

I just grabbed the wool and needles on the way out and made a start as he was dozing off and on while I was in visiting. It`s probably the best thing to keep me occupied as I won`t need to `think` about it, it`s so simple.

Off to do a bit more before I go to bed and TRY to sleep.

Elaine.

Good idea Elaine - the Sands blanket is certainly a good 'waiting' project :0) I will have mine at the knitpic tomorrow to keep me out of mischief :0)

Fingers crossed that he gets his op very soon now and you can then stop worrying so much about him :0) Give him our love and keep your chin up xx

Elaine,
Sorry to hear that Jim is now in hospital. He was in the right place at the right time yesterday, and will hopefully have the op sooner than anticipated and a good job will have been done. Keep up the good work with the sands blanket, sitting in the hospital, you will have it done in no time. Take care and give Jim our best wishes please. Will be in touch.
Mag x :)

Hello Elaine

Please pass on best wishes to your husband for his op and know that we will be thinking of you both.

The knitting will ease the waiting and worry and be productive too!

Hi Elaine

Very best wishes for your husband and his operation. The Sands blanket is an ideal project as you really don't have to think about it, just keep knitting. Hope everyone enjoys the Knitpic today and that the weather is kind to you.

Molly

Well, DH has been in hospital for a week now - and still hasn`t seen the surgeon ! :x

The ward doctor has told him however that he will be in hospital until he has had the op. He`s pencilled in to have it about the 6th July anyway, but he MIGHT be done sooner if a slot come vacant ie if someone has to cancel for some reason, Jim will be `on the spot` and ready to go at a moment`s notice.

They aren`t keen to let him home in case he has any more pain and lands up back in coronary care in an even worse state than he is now. Oh well, just have to accept I`ll have the bed to myself for the next three weeks or so, no-one to put my cold feet on

Have finished the sands blanket I started when he went in - still have the border to finish as I need to think about that more than the garter stitch, so that will be finished at home in the evenings ( or mornings) and have started a smaller version for the tiny `angels` in the neonatal ward of the local matty.

Must do some bits for my friend`s daughter`s baby due in 8 weeks time but can`t decide what to do - too many patterns to choose from. Don`t think it will be very big, unless she inreases dramatically in size in the next few weeks as she has a very `dainty` bump.

Think a visit to the wool shop is called for - need some inspiration.

See you tomorrow.

Elaine.

Sorry, your husband and you are having such an anxious wait. It can seem to go on for ever. Still, he is in the best place as they say, and ready to go at a moment's notice. Keep your chin up.
