After much to-ing and fro-ing, finally got a decent dating scan yesterday. Our baby is due on the 3rd of February 2009, although because I will have to have a C-section, will probably be born around the 20th January, barring difficulties!
Lou,
I shall be sending in my first two parcels today, the first of many, I hope. Here is hoping that you like it.

That is brilliant Karla - a winter baby so you can wrap it up in lots of warm woollies! :0) I will look forward to your parcels arriving here :0)

Hi
Thanks for the good wishes. Nausea is still around but manageable. It isn't as bad as with my first pregnancy. Managing my Type II Diabetes is the really pain in the tuckus. I have had to start taking insulin twice a day, as well as my tablets, but it is not as bad as I thought it would be. I was worried about the prospect of jabbing myself, but it doesn't hurt at all. It hurts more to jab my finger for my blood glucose test than to take the insulin. Besides that, I am fine. My husband thinks I am glowing, I think I am exuding pheromones, or something! lol

So pleased for you Karla, did you get a picture too or just a scan You sound as though you are coping well with the diabetes. My sister is diabetic and much prefers the 'pen' to the old needle she used to have to use. My sister that has just spent a week up here with us in Scotland, returned home last week and now she is a grandma again. She has another lovely grandson who is going to be called Joshua Owen I like the names. Just keep looking after yourself Dot

Sounds like you're coping really well Karla. Glad to hear Mommabear and Babybear are both healthy and happy.

So far so good. We did indeed get a picture, although it does not show much! Two little blobs where the head and body were. Arms and legs won't be properly visible for another week or two, just the buds are there. Amazing, when you think about it, that when you get pregnant, in nine months or so, you are actually knitting together a human being! Wouldn't it be cool to knit a baby? Beyond my skills, I am afraid.
Its funny, but when my dd was inside me, and we didn't know whether she was a boy or a girl, we called her baby bear, and she still gets called that from time to time, or Boo, which is a kind of nickname for it!
