Brillmini asked for some hat patterns so here's a few -

"Watchcap" http://www.redlipstick.net/knit/martext.html single rib with a nice twist,

"Boyfriend Hat" http://stephanieknits.blogspot.com/2007/03/keeping-boyfriends-ears-warm-since-2006.html k3 p2 rib

"Irish Hiking Hat" http://irishhikingknitalong.blogspot.com/2006/11/irish-hiking-hat.html with a simple cable

"moss stitch beret" http://hitashi.wordpress.com/2007/03/12/moss-stitch-beret/ for something different.

"a very plain hat" http://featherandfan.wordpress.com/patterns/a-very-plain-hat/ - just what it says

Some if not all of these are knit in the round but should easily convert to 2 needles if required.

I'm happy to amend a patt. to 2 needles if you want - PM me!

luv
Pam

Hi,

That's great of you to give us such a choice! How do we convert to 2 needles?

I can knit most things incl cable but never tried to knit on circular! Any tips?

Thanks Ellie xx

Hi Ellie,

If you don't fancy trying a circular needle then I'd suggest you pick the Boyfriend hat as its a nice easy rib, with straightforward decreasing.

You have to remember that every other row is opposite to the pattern (on circs you're always knitting the right side) and with this pattern you will be decreasing every row.

Its an easy pattern for me to translate if you want, you could then compare the pattern to the original and see how easy it is to do!

luv
Pam
