Hi, I'm carol and have been knitting for as long as i can remember, mainly knitted toys such as the jane greenhowe clowns and other characters. Also done a little bit of crochet - baby blankets. I have one boy who has enjoyed my creations, but as he gets olders, he's not as interested and i just love knitting so thought i should put this to good use. Its also good that i get to chat with people who enjoy the same things.

Hello from Yorkshire. I love knitting toys and dolls..I make things using my own patterns or ideas for people I know when they retire etc. Trouble is when you do that it is often hard to stick to a pattern...I have literally just this week finished a Sidney Slapstick.. but I was tempted to do my own thing at times! You will love it here.. There are so many things that will appeal.

Hello Carol from the Highlands, I like to knit toys but only one offs... I think after two or three it gets to be tedious and you don't enjoy doing it then. I like the variety we have with Lou's challenges and am looking forward to the Autumn one (sounds awful that when we are only into June) Everyone is very friendly and helpful so I am sure you will enjoy the forum Dot PS You didn't mention which part of the country you are from

Hi Carol - so glad you found us....we can certainly use your skills. I love it on here - knit and natt! (Although I'm a crocheter myself.) That's super that you're good at toys and like making them too. I don't mind but they are fiddly and I absolutely hate sewing and stitching their faces - although I'm pretty pleased with my latest effort on my Teddy for Tragey. Only made 2 so far as work full time - leave around 6.30/6.40am and get home 7.35/7.45pm. So only get to make dinner and flop out in the chair with my crochet. That leaves weekends to do the rest of the household chores, shopping and going out!

Your hours sound a bit like mine, Lorraine, although I do normally manage to make it home by 7pm. I keep thinking about trying to get a job without the 45 minute commute but not found anything i really want to do locally.

Hi Cathy - I did used to work locally but Nigel and I got a job in London when we were looking for plots of land. I've got to say that the pay is much better, so couldn't really go back to working near home at the present time as we now enjoy the income that City of London jobs bring! Always a compromise....sigh....
