Lou, before your next blood taking session, ask about heated pads. I am out of touch now but know of a friend that they had trouble getting at the vein. He was given these adhesive pads to apply some time before going to clinic & it worked. Not sure if they had to be heated of if a type of gel pad, I didn't take much notice at time, but when applied to area brought the vein ''up'' & he was a happy man! Do.xx

You never know - I was on a train journey for work once and taught a couple of girls (complete strangers) how to cast off - they were very grateful.

Dear Lou, I do hope things go well for you in Sheffield.
I've been there a few times as there is a big competition swimming pool there called Ponds Forge. My son used to do a lot of competition swimming so we went there several times. He even swam in the olympic trials there in 2007 - in the same event as the gorgeous Mark Foster (remember him from Strictly come dancing last year?). Now he's in Australia teaching little ones to swim, a bit of a turn around but he has to earn enough to go travelling next year.
I'm dead mean about letting go of my blood. Went to give blood last week and was told I have 'delicate little veins' - must be the only delicate thing about me!! Now I have great bruises on both elbows - I look like I've been doing something I shouldn't.
Wishing you lots of luck
Jacqui X
