I just saw on Ravelry (posted by littlelou) that it is supposed to be knit in public day on 14th June wouldn't that be great for us at Loving Hands to do something for that.

Laughing You are far too quiet lady! You never told us atr meeting tonight about hurting your shoulder and you never mentioned that you had already posted this on here when I was telling the group about Knit in Public day! :0) We will have to organise something mind you - I will have to think where though - a venue where we can be outdoors or inside depending on the weather or our tolerance to the heat ;0)

Laughing Is there a shelter of any sort in the park in case of rain? (Like the Pavilion in Dunfermline Park - they have a huge room and a restaurant in there but I don't think there is any cafe or anything like that in Beveridge park???). If I can decide on a venue I can get us listed as an official Knit in public venue which would be fun as there aren't any listed for Fife at all yet!

I am hoping for somewhere that has outdoors so we can sit out if it is sunny and the kids can have some fun - but also has a cafe or other sheletered area in case the weather turns nasty on us :0( Also it would be good if it was quite a busy place so we would see more people (more people to convert or persuade to part with their old yarn, material, lace etc! ). If not and we are quite sure of the weather then I am sure Beveridge Park would be good as the kids would love it:0)

Any more ideas girls? What are the facilities like in the other parks round about? I will have to check and see if we need permission to be there as well since we will be advertising :0)]

Laughing Looks like Beveridge park is the most popular notion then - weather permitting - we will have to see if we can pop up a gazebo or two for shelter and if we all fill flasks of boiling water and I bring the tea things we can sort out the cups of tea and coffee that way! Ii will phone the Park officer and ask if we need any permission to put up a shelter for the afternoon :0) I was thinking maybe 12 noon to 3pm does that seem long enough to you girls? We can have a Knitpic in the Park! :0) And yes I will definitely have lots of wee business cards and postcards with me ------- networking !!!

If we get something organised then we can post it on Ravelry too as there are lots of knitters out there not in Loving hands (yet). If we get permission then we can put posters up (after all no money will be changing hands so it should be alright with council). I am willing to design posters..not much time left though

Laughing I work nightshift Pam so 3am is the middle of my day :0)

Louise - I will give the park keepers a call today and make sure all will be well - do you think 12 noon to 3pm sounds like an OK length of time for it? I will also check to see if I can get myhands on a gazebo with sides and ask if we could put it up as shelter for anyone who needs it :0)

All being well I will get it posted on Ravelry and ask local papers to publicise as well (maybe get it on Real Radio and Kingdom FM as well).

You go right ahead and start working on poster ideas little lady :0)

Sounds good. Just such a pity that I wont be able to make it as I will still be in Wales on holiday. I drive back up on 15 June but hope you all have a good day.
