Och, the ones in the shop woildn`t be NEARLY as good as homemade ones.
Probably wouldn`t get as far as the cooling rack in this house, never mind waiting to fry the bloomin` bacon etc.

What a nice idea for a LH recipe book, cooking and baking is my favourite subject! I've got a couple I could submit.

Do we have any more details like printing costs, what kind of a book it will be...you know all of the nitty gritty details. I'm just being nosy I know but sounds exciting.

The last time I did it, it was practically free as hubby and eldest daughter both worked in the local papermill- so free paper- and they both had access to photocopiers so did some copying in lunch breaks etc. It was done in A4 size, but am looking at the possibility of making A5 size. depends on cost factors. Unfortunately, hubby was made redundant and daughter left.

I`ve contacted a friend who can give me details of the printer she uses for schedules for the local flower show - think she may be on holiday as answer machine is always on so have sent an email as well.

I have an all singing, all dancing copier, scanner and printer here Elaine - I use it for all the printing I need for LH so don't worry if you can't get access up there we will be able to print from here no problem.

Just a thought, the Scottish Knitting Only show is on in a couple of weeks (May 9th) at Perth Racecourse in Scone - maybe the Aberdonian contingent could get down for that and meet up with the locals - last year we had a lovely day out there and all bought loads of wool etc.

The other event is our Knitpic in the park to celebrate world knit in public day on June 13th - we are meeting up in Pittencreiff Park in Dunfermline this year from 1 to 4 - I am hoping to be able to be at one if not both of these events myself - surgeries permitting. I am back in limbo again at the moment as Mr Lyall is delaying my surgery so he can run more tests to establish exactly why I am not healing as I should.

Hi Lou,
I saw a wee poster for the knitting only show yesterday and pointed it out to t`other half who promptly said `Oh no, more knitting stuff ?` and shook his head.
I`d like to go but not sure if I`ll be able to - he`s waiting to see the surgeon at the end of this month as he`s waiting for bypass surgery. he had a `wee funny turn` as he put it when he was at his cardiac exercise class and ad to see one of the hospital docs then, so I`ve a feeling that it might push things along a bit. We`ll just wait and see.
Told him I could always go on my own, but he reckons I`d better leave the credit card at home then. Wonder why ??? :D

Maybe if Mag and Alana wanted to go as well you could all travel down together - it would be a nice girlie day out - think the menfolk would feel like aliens at the knitting show (we did have a few hubbies at the picnic last summer but they wandered off and left us to it most of the time). Didn't notice any men apart from the stallholders and the very gorgeous Carribean waiter in the restaurant last year - Wendy and I were all aflutter - good job I am a lady of a certain age - usually lets me away with murder

I'm all for enterprise and think the Recipe Book sounds good. My one and only fav. recipe is Scotch Pancakes and I do have a Stork Marg. recipe for fudge which is really great.

Can I suggest Maureen knits food for the cover :!: I haven't asked her but she is so good at inventing things and she already has a head start with the anniversary cake she is working on. What do you say Maureen :?: Dot

Funny you should mention the knitted food thing..I was toying with the idea of us making lots of knitted foods(Have some great Jean G. patterns)
to make some kind of display that could maybe be raffled to boost our funds. I await comments.
Love Mad Maureen WHO IS DROOLING AT THE THOUGHT OF ALL THOSE RECIPES!

I told my OH Steven yesterday that i had something great for us to do on Saturday 9 May and that he was to keep it free - he very quickly said if it has anything to do with knitting or flowers i could forget it :( He told me to take my mum instead, but Dad's working so she'll be tied to looking after the goats and my grandad, bless her :)
