That will be great, I`ve only had a few in so far - I`m assuming everyone is too busy knitting to think about food

Sent a text to our members over here and they are all hunting out the favourite nibbles - most seem to be either desserts or baking. Will definetly be sending over the recipe for fifteens (big over here), which is as you would expect a recipe for the baking section.

Any others that I would use are adaptions from recipe books, are they okay to send?

When do you want them all for?

Cherryl xx

Thanks, Cherryl,

If it`s a recipe straight out of one of Delia`s/ Nigella`s/ Gary`s books, we would have to say so because of copyright etc. or if it`s one you have adapted we might have to put in something like `adapted from delia`s recipe`

Looks like we all have a sweet tooth  - might have to be LH puddings & cakes book then !!

The sooner the better - then we can get things moving. Mind you, I won`t have so much time for knitting then - unless I can squeeze a few more hours into a day

Elaine.

What with me drooling and dribbling and Wendy lusting I am wondering what is to become of us all! I can see Lou wielding her big stick to get us all back in line.

Jean, The tattie scone recipe sounds absolutely delicious. A must for the LH recipe book Elaine and a few more of us will be bursting at the seams.
Enjoy, as this house will, hubby 6'2" and son 6'5". Their hollow legs definitely need filling up. Happy eating folks.
Mag x :D

Mag -I didn't think the tattie scone recipe was for printing in the book! I have sent Elaine a couple of puddings/cake recipes - think that she is making them and trying them out before we get sight of the cook book. That's OK by me.
I have a couple more to send but thought I had better look out some savoury things - its hard tho' as I was born with the famous Scottish sweet tooth.
Perhaps everyone else will send in non cake/pudding recipes and that will balance out the book in the end.
Have a good day
Jean in Still Raining France
xx

I think the tattie scones should go in the cookbook Jean - they are definitely a very Scottish thing and we could maybe have a 'regional' theme to part of the book :0) Kelly adores tattie scones and has them on a 'piece' with cheese and the centre of a fired egg (seriously she fries the egg and then cuts off the extra white and puts just the yolk part on her piece) - she loves it (I usually slip some tattie scones into the fridge on days she is coming over - I know she can't resist making herself lunch then :0)

Lou - are they hame made or dae ye cheat an get bocht? I actually had to weigh them last week while I was making them, tae get an aproximation of the recipe.

When a' asked ma Grannie the original recipe was a dodd o' tatties, a puckle o' flour an a wee dollup o' butter or cream - there ye go hen!!!!!!!

This while I was living in Italy years ago and really needed a tattie scone - I have nae problem understanding your Kelly loving them in a piece, ma favourite piece is actually a roll on slice sausage!

I sincerely hope one of you Aberdonians will be handing in the recipe for butteries by the way, as I have lost mine......... Elaine if you have this already I will pay big bucks tae have it sent to me asap!

Ooooh, butteries. I had them about 20 years ago when i visited Peterhead and they were fabulous. I'd definitely buy a book with the recipe for those in!

I've pmd a simple budget family recipe we've used for years. Not very grand, but hope it will be of use. Realise most of my other ones are adapted from recipes in books, which wouldn't be appropriate. A bit dismaying to realise I don't actually have 'my own' recipes. Keep kudgling the brain, I must have some of my own 'made up' recipes but can't think what they are at the moment.

Depends on the time I have Jean - hame made are definitely best and so easy to do if you have left over mash but if we haven't then I do sometimes just buy a packet (don't think they taste half as good but Kelly doesn't mind) oddly she prefers square sausage (or lorne sausage as it is called) to links.

I love butteries too - never made those myself yet although I always used to make my own bread - mmmmm the smell of fresh baked bread wafting through the house - heaven :0)

I use my grannies drop scone recipe with golden syrup in it - think I will have to send that one in (scotch pancakes for the un-initiated) usually have to make huge batches though as they rarely make it from the griddle to the tea towel without eager hands pinching them to put butter on while they are still hot xx)

Hi Elaine

I have been missing from the Forum for a while and have just read about the book. I have a really good chicken recipe which is not too difficult. Do I send it by PM to you?

Molly

Yes please Molly, or email them - and any others you think folk would enjoy.

Have only had a handful so far - I think everyone must be trying to decide which is their ABSOLUTE favourite :D but if it`s too difficult to choose, send them all in

Elaine.
