 Elaine (PSSO) has come up with a suggestion to help our postage fund - she says another organisation she used to belong to had a recipe book they sold for funds. Sounds like a great idea to me and a great way for us all to share our favourite recipes too :0)

Why not pm or email in with your favourite recipes - if we get enough we will collate them into a Loving Hands Recipe Book and copies can be sold to members, friends and families to raise funds for our postage etc.

The recipes we had were in different section Starters, Main courses, Desserts and Sweets ( tablet, coconut ice type things ) we could also have Baking ?

Lou, I don`t want to tread on your toes or anything but if the girls want to contact me instead of piling more work on you, I don`t mind, either way it will be interesting to hear what you all think.

Tha other fundraiser I did for a different organisation was quizzes eg whiskies, flower names etc. Any takers for that sort of thing ?

Elaine.

Thanks for that Elaine - girls if you want to pm or email PSSO with your recipes for the LH cook book - different sections for different types of recipes is a great idea - we are all for home made goodies here :0)

I will have a think and send you some of my favourites and when Kelly gets back from her wee holiday in Balfron (visiting Andy's family over there) I will ask her for the recipe for her lemon cheesecake (with no cheese - it is lovely!) .

As Elaine says too - the Quiz sheets are a great idea as well - we are quite the hive of activity at the moment :0)

Have just spent the afternoon making tattie scones - but I don't expect anybody will want that recipe! Just so we can have a fry up for breakfast tomorrow as a treat.

I am on the hunt for my favourites be warned they may all come under the heading of pudding or cake.
Jean in France - mouth watering at the very thought of a new cook book

Can I be the chief taster of recipes for the L.H. book? Someone should make the sacrifice! I am happy to be that martyr. I am no cook but I am a good eater! Like the idea of the book and even I have 2 easy recipes I could submit (both desserts, wouldn't you know it!)

Now ladies,

Form an orderly queue, my daughter has already volunteered for the position as has Jean in France.

I`ll maybe have to share the duties out to ensure that NO ONE over indulges and suffers for our cause !!!

Aaww, poor you Maureen. :(

I`ll keep it in mind that you need to have lots of treats then.

Then again..................we don`t want to make you worse again if you overindulge.
Oh dear decisions, decisions.

Good afternoon ladies
Maureen I am surprised at you playing the sympathy card here, you should be ashamed, anyway, I only wanted the puddings and cakes/biscuits to try I am not gready in the least. I can understand Shazrobo volunteering her sons they are growing lads and need all the help they can get- its the hollow legs, they will eventually grow out of it.
Tattie Scones Elaine – try your local shop if like me it's miles away then have this one on me for free folks, makes just enough for 2 dinner plate sized rounds which you cut into 4 (like a St Andrews cross)
warm mashed tatties (4 oz)try getting the family to NOT eat the whole pot full at dinner; bung in a wee bit plain flour (1 oz) and a teaspoon of cream (or butter) mash up, roll out on plenty of flour, this
makes just enough for 2 dinner plate sized rounds which you cut into 4, like a St Andrews cross (other Saints can be used), the kids used to make them using biscuit cutters but they were never big enough for my liking, slap onto hot griddle and off ye go. Cool in a tea towel on a wire rack – then just see if ye can leave them long enough to get to a frying pan the next day, WARNING – make loads because the are delicious right off the heat with butter melting and dripping down your chin – here speaks the voice of experience. YES we did have them with black pudding, slice sausage and runny egg – won't need another feed till tonight, and it is only once in a big blue moon so it is certainly allowed.
Jean in France – bursting at the seams
xx
