I think it was on "square the circle" webs ste. I did copy the pattern but not the pictures. Here it is. If this is what you are thinking of.

BASIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR GO-OVER SIZE 10-14

Some of you may prefer to knit/crochet the GO-OVER in 10 x 20" rectangles (front and back) and 8 x 16" rectangles (sleeves). or even work the entire front and back (20" square) or sleeve (16" square) in one piece - It really doesn't matter - it's whatever you prefer.

FRONT AND BACK
Knit or crochet 8 10" squares
Join 4 for back and 4 for front (leaving top 5 1/2" of front unstitched for neck opening)
Join front to back at shoulder (leaving 4" on each side at neck edge unstitched for neck opening)

SLEEVES
Knit or crochet 8 x 8" squares for sleeves.
Join 4 squares for each sleeve

SEWING INSTRUCTIONS
Join sleeve to front and back at shoulder, making sure to stretch sleeve out enough to create 16" armhole opening Sew up underarm seam

WRIST OPENING
The wrist opening be drawn in using various methods
(1) The simplest way is to use 2 double strands of wool and use a running stitch around the wrist, draw up and tie off.
(2) For Crocheted garments the following works well

CROCHET INSTRUCTIONS FOR CUFF
Row 1 - Single Crochet into the end of every other row all the way around the wrist opening (about 28 SC)
Row 2 - Single crochet in each SC
Row 3 - Single crochet *into first 2 SC, skip one SC. Repeat from * all the way around (about 20 SC)
Row 4 & 5 - Single Crochet in every stitch

KNITTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR CUFF
Row 1 - pick up an knit every other stitch long sleeve edge
Row 2 - *Knit 2, knit 2 together, repeat all the way round
Row 3-5 Knit (K1, P1 can also be used if you prefer)

BASIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR GO-OVER SIZE 10-14 Page 2 /2

Don't worry if your GO-OVER is a bit bigger or smaller - FOR SURE IT WILL FIT SOMEONE WHO NEEDS IT

The important thing about the GO-OVER is that it has large armhole openings (16") and an adequate neck opening to accommodate hoodies or whatever else is underneath. (see sewing instructions for shoulders and front)
We strongly suggest this garment be knitted in garter stitch or crocheted in single crochet so that there will be no "holes" in the pattern and it will be as snug as possible.

Wool requirements - the GO-OVER can be made in DK yarn like the blanket squares (using 5:00 mm knitting needles)., but will work very well in chunky weight (using 6:00 mm hook or needles) and will be extra cosy.

Have FUN with this pattern!! Be as creative as you like with colour, stripes etc.!!

It is meant to simple and basic...... there is NO right or wrong as long as the armholes and neck opening are wide enough.

WHEN MAILING YOUR GO-OVER... PLEASE BE SURE TO MARK THE CUSTOMS SLIP

“KNITTING FOR CHARITY - NO COMMERCIAL VALUE”

WITH NO FURTHER DETAILS SO THAT RONDA WILL NOT INCUR ANY DUTY CHARGES.

KAS having very particular postage instructions for the safe arrival in Africa, so I think it was agreed early on that we would send anything we knit for them personally. They currently have a heartwrenching appeal for warm teenage hats for children living alone in the Hills around johannasburg.

Claire is correct - because of the difficulty and expense of getting items to Africa everyone who makes things particulary for KAS sends them in a jiffy bag as per their instructions and lets everyone on the forum know what they have sent. All other squares we get in are made into blankets and forwarded to our other charities :0)
