Hi Lou, yes he came with them this morning while I was attacking a bush with the secateurs. I didn`t realise it would be 2 HUGE boxes - had to have a look to see what was in them of course (nosy) and had a wee weep when I saw the burial gowns - they are heartbreakingly beautiful. Hubby says we are going to go in to the matty today with them, `cos we`ve so much blinkin` knitting stuff lying about he can hardly turn round without knocking something over. slight exagerration (not)
What makes you think I have lots of bits and pieces on the needles at the moment ?? and bags of wool..........and patterns ......and etc etc.

Will pop back later and let you know how we get on.

Elaine.

Lou i'm sure if you give Mag a call she can arrange to get the dog coat from Barbara sent to you. You're right it is just perfect for a doggy fashion show and i'm sure Barbara will be thrilled to know what it will be used for.

Elaine I look forward to seeing how you get on at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital.

I gave Peterhead Community Hospital a call as they have a maternity ward there and they are happy to take donations of baby hats, cardies, jumpers, booties, mittens and blankets, (newborns upwards) as long as they can be washed at 60 degrees. They don't have many premature babies there as they normally get sent through to Aberdeen, so would only be able to use a few of the bigger preemiee items. They don't use burial items at all as again these wee souls are dealt with at Aberdeen.

I think it would be a good idea if we could get the hospital to send us a request when they need things, Lou i think you mentioned this before. That way we are not sending them items to sit unused in a cupboard. They can also tell us specifically what they need then as well.

Speak soon x

That is exactly right Alana - we prefer to send things 'to order' as that way we know they are needed and wanted :0) I packed those boxes with the items Elaine told me the nurses had asked for - pretty baby blankets, baby cardies, hats, mittens and bootees in size 14 inches up to newborn and a selection of burial items as well.

Now we know what Peterhead wants we can sort them out as well :0) This is what we need feedback and requests from hospitals so we can fill their needs :0)

Hope the Aberdeen Maternity loves the boxes Elaine - I certainly liked the extra space in the office - things are coming in thick and fast now there are so many of us - I am having to send things out two or three times a month now - I am determined to keep the charities well supplied and clear this office of clutter (which I can now get to as I am getting all the donations out so quickly :0) Hopefully it won't be too long till I can get my office decorated and my new furniture built up and installed - I think I have waited long enough now :0)

Hi Maureen,
I saw Jessie on Wednesday and asked her about the pattern for the slippers. As I thought, it is all in her head. She has been doing them since the dark ages. Jessie is in he 91st year, suffers badly from arthritis and has Parkinsons, just two of her many problems, but is brilliant to crochet as she does. I will sit with her one day and see if I can write something down for you as she works. I'm sure we will come up with something for you.
Lou,
The dogs coat from Barbara, I think a Christmas elf or something like that. You can have it for the comp. I don't like to see dogs dressed up but our own greyhounds have jackets for the cold and rain as there is no fat or fur on them.
Regards Mag x :)
