Another great meeting. The caretaker at the Community Centre had rearranged our room so we could get more tables in and it was just as well. We were delighted to welcome another two new members, Yvonne and Anne. Very warm welcome to you ladies and it was great to see them enjoying the chat. Besides myself, Yvonne and Anne we were joined with Barbara, Jackie, Heather, Rebecca, Ingrid, Jennifer, Gillian, Margaret L, Margaret H, Georgina, Rosemary, Rosemary M and Jennifer M. A few of our girlies were under the weather and didn't make it to the meeting - hope to see youse on Thursday.

Georgina completed a lovely ruffled blanket and Noel send his usual 7 hats:

As you know, I have been speaking to the NI Hospice and we are planning to make a donation at the end of November to their patients. The NI Hospice looks after and provides respite care for adults and children who are receiving cancer treatment. It would be lovely for our donations to be of some help and comfort to them.

Keep up the great work everyone,

Cherryl xx

Maureen - Ingrids hoodie is knit and I think I have the pattern - I will check. Jackies hoodies are crocheted and I def have the pattern. I will get them posted to you if you want to give them a go.

Barbara - Noels hats are done on a knitting loom and I think I am right in saying that some are done in chunky and some dk (doubled I think).

Thanks everyone for your encouraging posts.

Cherryl xx

Lots of lovely fun donations as usual. Loved the wedding cakes and the sequinned berets, although everything else was beautiful too.

Well done everyone.

Helen, Yes, it can be quiet when you're knitting on your own, but you do get more done!!!!. I'll be thinking of you while i'm knitting. 8)

Lovely donations as usual everyone.

*Nosey question, because I keep being tempted by them on readicut* Is knitting on a loom like French knitting with one of those dolly things but on a bigger scale? The hats look great done on the loom.

Yes they are :)

I got the book by Isela Phelps on Loom Knitting from the library last November and have been addicted ever since. Her husband, Sam, makes wooden looms with a smaller gauge in Utah and bought a couple of them too.
Great to use if you have painful hands and the basic stitch using chunky or doubled DK comes up so fast. My only problem was getting the correct size but with Loving Hands to donate too those that don't fit get donated, lol.
