It's great to see the pics back on the thread Lou, so thanks for taking the time with your little helpers to photograph them.

Nita don't put yourself down, those teddies looked great (very happy) and I liked the bags you made. Is it a plain material with picture squares stitched on or does it come with the pics. already printed :?: Dot

What great work - so much talent!! Well done all!!!
Thanks Lou for letting us all have a look.

It could be just me but it gets the old creative juices flowing and the needles flying don't you think. Looking forward to the next challenges.

Hope to send off a parcel next week with things already made.

Lesley x

Its fantastic to see everything you have all sent in.

I'll be sending some in but it wont be in time for the challenge deadline unfortunately.

Thanks for the encouragement, I always think my knitting is not up to scratch, as I've only taken it up again recently. But even I can see that I've improved so there's hope for me yet :)
Dot, the bags are made from curtain lining with the squares cut out from patchwork fabric and sewn on. I should have made more but I got bogged down with other stuff I'd promised to do so I'll do some and send them off but they will miss the challenge deadline. Still I'm sure Lou will use them somehow

I have a few things almost ready to send off, I also have a BIG ball of crochet cotton, its more of a silky thread really, so I'll send that into you Lou as I am sure you will find a good home for it

 OK girls - I have kept you all waiting long enough - can we have a drum roll please  :P :D

The Winter Challenge totals as of today 14th January, 2009!!!

Teddies 140 (19 of them are sitting here beside me waiting to be stuffed and finished off before I pop them into their box to post off to Alice tomorrow).

Teddy Bags 80

Blankets 158 - these have been vacuum packed ready to be handed over to Kathy Henry and her hubby tomorrow afternoon - Kathy's church group will be taking the blankets over to Zambia for Aids Orphans there.

Image

Sailor's Hats 302 - all boxed and ready to take to the post office tomorrow morning before I go to meet Kathy at the other side of the Forth Road Bridge,

Image

It is a rather large box - glad I have Kelly here to help me move it and get it into the post office

Pyjamas and Nightdresses - sadly this was a bit of a non starter as we still haven't found a source of materials yet. We have had 14 pairs of pyjamas and 8 nightdresses made so far - hopefully we will be lcky and find a supplier willing to donate some material for these later and can revisit this challenge then - we have increased our pile of items for Linda McDonald over this quarter - she is sooooo delighted with all you do for her and has mentioned us in her newsest newsletter

There are still more to be added to the above totals so I will wait about a week and then add the late items on - well done everyone - I will post up the new Spring Challenges in the morning so watch this space........ :P

Brilliant totals everyone. I have been off work today and I think you can feel the excitement of everyone on the forum just waiting for Lou to make the announcement. Now waiting for tomorrows challenges. Well done to Lou and all her helpers and to everyone in Loving Hands.

Shame we didn't make the targets on blankets or teddies and bags but I suppose considering it was the Christmas period and we must have all been doing a fair amount of knitting for family and friends we didn't do too badly :D Thanks for putting on the totals for us Lou. By the way the package off Mrs G.J. Yates is my sister from Wootton Wawen. She doesn't have access to a computer but I will tell her I have seen a pic. of all her knitting. :D Dot
