Thanks Pauline, that would be lovely, I have put it on my calendar.

Maureen - why don't you have a trip to Portsmouth and you can sample the home-cooking delights. I have two spare bedrooms!!!!

Lou - well done with your weight loss. I know how hard it is as I seem to have been on a permanent diet all my life. Even as a child when I danced in shows I was always the fat fairy on the end of the stage. However, I still seem to be able to manage a cake at our meetings, no willpower of course

Salbe - I think everyone should try apple cake with snow on the top (sorry Pauline).

Warm apple cake with melting butter then snow is great too!!

Sorry Mum (Pandsy), you should have thought that all the childhood goodies would come back to you at some point!

See you later, Love Sal x

Hi Sue

Yes, the meeting is at 7.00 pm on 12th August at Cosham Community Centre. I won't be at the next meeting as my husband is going into hospital but I hope to see you next time. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, everyone is really friendly and with apple cake to look forward to what more could you want.

Molly

HI Sue
It is Cosham Community Centre on Wootton Street.

If you are coming off the A3 you come down London Road past the turning for QAH hospital, and straight over the roundabout, heading towards Cosham centre. At the next roundabout turn left into Wayte Road (this roundabout has the police station and fire station mmm ... fireman) and then take the turning on the right into Wootton Street. The community centre is halfway along on the right with its own car park outside.

07884 258985 - if you get lost give me a call (though i'm sure you wont).

Look forward to seeing you there.

Abi x

Molly, you are so sweet. I wish I could get to Portsmouth. If I do get down that way I would make it a priority to meet up with you. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!! We used to stay Cosham way in our caravan a long time ago at a country club. We loved it there.
Love Mad Maureen X

I hope that one of you will post the Dorset Apple cake recipe for Elaine to include in the LH cook book! If not I will have to hunt it out and that could be detremental to my health - well I would have to make one and then eat it to remind me just how good it is.

Maureen - I am quite serious. If you ever manage to get down here you are more than welcome to stay and the Portsmouth girls would make you feel at home.

I am also going to get the apple cake recipe from Pauline. I will swap her recipe for my apple chutney recipe. We have an overhanging neighbour's apple tree in our garden and so many apples I run out of ideas to use them up.

Molly

Right come on you lot, enough of this. We are ALL drooling and dribbling over our keyboards - getting to be as bad as Maureen.
Don`t just keep these lovely recipes to yourselves -SEND THEM TO ME -and I`ll get them into the cake book - sorry cookbook. I don`t have my own `puter just now because it went wrong on the day of Jim`s funeral and is away to the puter hospital just now. I`m using a borrowed laptop at the moment. Think I managed to save all the recipes sent in so far on to a disc -fingers crossed - but there are not nearly enough to do a cook book, so please SEND ME MORE PLEASE.
I can make it principally a cake book if that`s what everyone wants, as it`s mostly baking recipes with just a few starters and main courses so far, but as it`s Loving Hands members favourite recipes absolutely anything can go in.

If it`s quite a long recipe, you would be better sending it by email as pm`s don`t have enough space sometimes.
Elaine.

Great to have you back Elaine. I will send you my apple chutney recipe if you want. It's really yummy and great for using up windfall apples.

Hello Pauline..I have sent no end of emails to thank you for the recipe for the apple cake but they have all bounced back. Do not know why. I used the reply button. Have tried 2 PMs but they do not seem to want to go either so here goes once more to say thank you. As I have tried to say on all my other communications, the recipe looks delicious and we can't wait to try it and to adding even more inches around our already well rounded middles!
