 I agree Abakhan is wonderful too - they have even suggested they might give us some donated items if we add them to our site listings - of course when they send us a donation we will be only too delighted to - with them selling fabric and trimmings too they are great for us as we have all crafts working here :0) Now where did I put my card :0)

 That's not very fair Ilona - maybe we should all ask him to include other countries in his mailing list :0)

All these sites sound great . Looks like you found some real bargains Herbydacious!

I daren't look as we have had a number of heavy bills and going on holiday to Crete next Saturday...can't afford to spend out. I usually visit a couple of wool shops in the area as I'm never home to collect parcels and, depending on what I'm doing at the weekend, would have to make a special trip to the sorting office. I have had a sneaky peek before though and, call me sad, but I find it exciting!

I've been using Knitwell for years and have found them very good, especially their bargains. They also do toy stuffing and bags of different colours for toy making. Have just bought some DK at a third of the price.

Hi Everyone,

It's worth taking a look at www.yarn-paradise.com some of their yarns are beautiful and they have mixed lots which come in at approx 21p per 50gr. They are based in turkey but are efficient and quick at delivery usually 3-5 days to the UK and they will deliver anywhere in the world.

Browse and enjoy

Aileen :D

I've just had a look and they do have some bargains but P&P is £15.66. But if I was brave and bulk bought I could make a real saving.

Have you used them often Aileen? What is the quality of wool like?

Hi Buzzy Lizzy,

Yes indeed I've used them for a couple of years and found the quality of wool to be A1. I've just ordered more this week and now have an invitation to invite a friend and if they purchase they get a pack of yarn for free - which is normally 400-500g. Although I haven't looked at the options or choices of yarns available on this offer.

My other thought was to do a bulk buy for anyone who is interested and that way there is only 1 delivery charge and that get's distributed amongst everyone who purchases it. Just an idea!

Cheers Aileen

Busy Lizzy,

Sorry aboutthe typo earlier,

Another thought is to do a search on 'ICE yarns' on ebay it's the same company and the postage is more competitive.

Aileen :)

 You beat me to it Aileen! I have just had a look and it is a great site - the postage isn't too bad considering it is coming from Turkey! The prices are also fantastically low! I have just ordered £60 of yarn from Kemps this week to boost our stocks a wee bit as we are very low on yarn supplies here - the girls cleaned me out of not only LH wwol but my own stash as well shile I was in hospital so I have an excuse to buy more now :0) We really must have a fundraiser soon to get some cash to buy yarn - I feel a coffee morning or sale coming on in the near future :0) The money we bring in from local meetings barely covers the postage fund as I am forever sending out parcels of stuffing,, fabric, patterns or wool to someone or other and some of our charities need their parcels posted to them too. I did have a little surplus recently so bought that huge bale of stuffing and the yarns from Kemps which whould be here this week and I know we have some donations coming in thanks to your lolvely husband putting out an appeal at his work - give him a big hug from us :0) I will have to pop over and pick it up from you soon :0)

I have used Chawlas for fabric. They are quick and reliable, p+p is quite reasonable. At one time they were the only place I could get self coloured brushed cotton/wynciette for new born baby gowns, it washes up so soft.

Hi! I just found this site:

http://www.iceyarns.com/

They have a massive range of fashion yarns (fur, popcorn, ribbon etc..) in loads of colours. They sell in packs of 50g balls. I bought 8 for £2.99!!

Had a look and they have great bargains. How do they deliver....does it come by courier? Problem I have is that I am never home to sign for deliveries and can only buy online items if they use Royal Mail as I can make it to their sorting office on Saturday morning. Some of these courier firms have depots miles away, which might not be possible to get to. So, this is a BIG consideration for me.
