 I love to buy from Kemps online store - the service is fast and they have really cheap wool! Always a bonus! http://kempswoolshop.com/home.aspx Here is the link for the homepage - have a look for yourself!

That's a really good website Lou and what is even better than the prices is that they show you what patterns can be done with the wool.

I've used Kemps before and they were very good. I tend to use McAree Bros for online shopping. Their service is absolutely top notch. I can place an order at lunchtime and it arrives in the next morning's mail, and delivery is free for orders over £10. Fantastic if, like me, you have no patience and are itching to get knitting.........

 Just had a wee look at their online shop Kirsty - very nice site but they didn't seem to have any clearance corner or discounted yarns like Kemps do - not to say I might not go into their shops if I happened to be passing one! :0) The thing I like most of all about Kemps is their prices! I must admit to beng a great believer in bargains! :0)

Hi

Kemps looks very good and I will certainly give them a go. When we moved from the North East to the South I gave all my spare wool away and I am now trying to build up a stock of wool. (Hidden from my husband of course as I already have a lot of card-making and embroidery supplies - he says we may have to move if I buy any more supplies!!!!!) Men just don't understand, do they?

There are some reductions on the McAree website but not many. I'm trying to only buy for specific projects just now.........thankfully hubby hasn't spotted what's happening with wool accumulation behind the sofa :D If they had loads of clearance offers then it would be even worse!

I've just had my second order from www.mcadirect.com They don't have really cheap offers like Kemps but they are a bit cheaper than local shops and are very quick. They are good for people like me that doesn't have a good local source, especially if you want a particular brand. They will let you return if the colours aren't quite what you expected and will "lay by" wool for up to 6 weeks

I use Kemps as well, and agree some absolute bargains can be found. Another place I use are
Abakhan Fabrics, Hobby & Home they stock all manner of hobby stuff not just wool, fabric, cross stitch, card making and loads of other things, the link I've posted goes direct to their 'Clearance' page, I've just picked up a bag of 10 x 50g balls Sirdar Frenzy for £5.99 and they give you another 10 x 50g free in the same colour, they have about 9 different colours in stock, I bought 3 for knitting scarves

Picked up some 1 bag plus 1 free on Tufty and Funky Fur as well hardly any colours left on these, but they'll come in useful. They also have some cracking deals with up to 85% off a lot of the Sirdar wools boa, medici, arran and snowflake plus many others, again not many colours to choose from but at £5.99 for 10 balls that usually cost £2.00 and upwards a ball, its a bargain. Postage is only £4.99 as well no matter how much you order. I think I now have enough wool to last me until next winter and all for £30 including postage!!! Hope the above is useful to someone :)
