I use a website called www.freecycle.org which people advertise or request free things on. Each area has it's own group so for example I belong to the Milton Keynes group. This could be a good source of odd balls of wool for our projects.

All you do is post a wanted message and then pick up if anyone responds (you get an email response). I am going to make a requests to get me started. As a lot of what we will do relies on oddments it could prove a good source of materials.

I hope there is one near each person as it saves this wool going to landfill and if you explain why you want it in your post you could get a good response.

I am a moderator in the West Fife Freecycle group and also belong to 3 other groups that are surrounding my postcode - we use it often to get donations of wool and fabric for Loving Hands and I know that Abi used it with great success when she set up the Portsmouth Group - Freecycle is great! :0)

Hi I am a freecycler too with the Harlow Group, I have freecycled many things, save taking to the skip, but as yet have not seen any wool or fabric offered.

have you tried asking for some?

I put a post on down here in as Lou mentioned and have had a fantastic response... I think you'll get a much better response if you post yourself and I've also had a couple of enquires about the groups too!

I love freecycle too!
