You are a real star Lou!! The pics are great I'll get mum round on Sunday for a coffee and a look to. I'm a bit late joining for the summer challenge but we've managed to nearly finish off 4 little sun tops. I'm on hols for a week from 11/7 to 18/7 so fingers crossed I'll get them posted off before I go then I can look forward to the new challenges on my return!

 Right I am going to try to whizz through and bring these donations and pictures up to date while all is working - I am waiting for the dentist service to call me back as Miss Jenna has a terrible toothache and has had us up all night crying with it. Hopefully they will call and say bring her right over - fingers crossed - getting too old to have to watch my wee one crying in pain and she won't swallow tablets to help (the calpol and paracetamol liquid we have been giving her doesn't seem to be working for her :0(.

Here we go then - lots to get through so I will just get them all down as fast as I can :0)

first we had two parcels from the same person with no name on - both in brown envelopes and neither of them had any postage on so I was charged £2.41 for each of them by the post office! I don't know if this kind sould just got mixed up and thought that as we are a charitable group we don't need to pay postage on our parcels - sadly not we have to pay through the nose just the same as everyone else :0) Never mind the thought was there - whoever you are - thank you for the five adults hats you enclosed in your packages :0)

Image

Image

from Gillian Harber we had 3 burial gowns, 2 sleeping bags, 3 baby hats, 1 pr of prem mittens and 1 prem bodywarmer - thank you Gillian :0)

Image

from Coral Burrows there were 2 prem cardies and 1 prem bodywarmer - lovely Coral - thank you x

Image

from Lillias (tenpin765) there were three more lovely doggy coats - thanks Lilias! I put them in Nias box for the animals in Wales :0)

Image

from Jacky (hadenmaiden) 3 pairs of prem bootees, 3 burial gowns and 2 prem blankets - lovely - thanks Jacky x

Image

from Ilona in Germany (Charley) we had 8 lovely pairs of kids socks, 2 boobs and 1 knitted pinafore dress - lovely Ilona - thank you! x

Image

from our lovely Granny Do two amazing gents waistcoats - beautifully tailored by a very talented lady :0) These are fantastic Do and just perfect as you said for the gents at Blythswood - Suzanne would love to make some too if she can get her hands on a pattern for some. Well done you (as always) xxx

Image

from an anonymous donor who says anothe rmember gave her our address (the note was written on the back of a Hooe Village Parish Survey) :0) 73 crocheted squares all made up from 4 smaller crocheted squares jopined together along with 8 more small ones to make two more big ones if you catch my drift  These have all gone back to e
Edinburgh with Anne (Skye) as she made the mistake of volunteering to sew some squares together for us when she came over on Saturday afternoon to drop off things she had made :0) Thatll teach her - it is very dangerous to volunteer in front of Loopy Lou

Image

from Pam Bennett her mum Brenda and auntie Elaine there were 5 scarves, 3 kids hats, 6 toys and 1 oxfam jumper - thanks a lot girls these are great - the toys are so nicely done

Image

from Pat (our lovely Silver Surfer) 3 blankets, 4 bodywarmers with marching hats, 4 angel wraps, 1 stretchy hat, 1 tam o shanter (very pretty in the sparkly white fluffy yarn), 1 adult hat, 1 baby cardie and 1 very stern looking octopus (we loved him!). Thanks you so much for a wonderful first donation Pat - you have certainly made your mark already both on the forum and here xx

Image

from Helen (helenknit) 1 pair of kids trousers and a sun top, 2 knitted scarves and 52 st pads for the project washables appeal - brilliant Helen - Suzanne was delighted with these!

Image

another package with no name and no note this time containing 2 pairs of adult bedsocks and 8 baby hats - thank you so much xx

Image

from Kelly Canning now - 2 lovely blankets - thank you Kelly! x

Image

another box from Janette (knitnatter), her mum Margaret and Margaret's friend Kath. from Janette we had 1 sands blanket, 1 baby blanket, 1 animal blanket, from Margaret there was 1 baby blanket, 1 baby hat and 1 toy and from Kath we had 1 osfam jumper and 2 pullovers - wonderful work as always girls - thank you all so much xx

Image

now from Julie (Tooties) we have 5 blankets, 1 boob, 5 prs kids socks, 5 jumpers and 3 baby cardies - what a great pile of donations Julie - thank you!!! x

Image

from Sue Garlic and the Happy Hookers group who meet in Ashton Library in Wigan we had 13 jumpers, 3 kids scarves, 2 toys and 4 kids hats - wonderful donations all - thank you so much xxx I had a lovely chat with Sue at the weekend and persuaded her to get signed on here which she has done. She gave me the great news that from next week the Happy Hookers will be 30 strong and are making things for lots of great charity projected including ourselves - keep up the good work Sue and it was great talking to you!

Image

from Jenny Hill we had 1 blanket, 1 scarf, 2 kids hats and 1 urial gown and bonnet - thank you Jenny - these are just perfect :0)

Image

from Kate Grant and the Knitwits Group (from St Andrew's United Reformed Chirch in Scarborough) we had 4 blankets, 5 cardies, 1 bolero and - wait for it - 46 kids jumpers!!!! Well done all of you we were thrilled with such a huge donation from one place - it is lovely to get big contributions from our wonderful wee groups out there xxx

Image

Image

and finally for this update we had a visit from Anne (Skye) and her lovely hubby Aleck on Saturday afternoon - many thanks to Aleck for taking time out to bring Anne over from Edinburgh to drop off her work - I did bake a lemon sponge but Aleck never had any as he had just had his lunch vefore he came over - I think Anne nejoyed it though xx

In Anne's amazing donations were - 30 st covers, 25 st pads, 16 wonderful quilted pet beds (Suzanne loved these when I showed her and the ladies at the Cat Shelter and Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society were delighted with them as I delivered them at the weekend!), some wool Anne thoguht she wouldn't get round to using up, 1 oxfam jumper, 1 sun top, 7 cardies, 1 pair of baby socks, 4 baby hats and 2 pairs of bootees. What a great pile of goodies Anne - thank you so much xxx

Great contributions and I hope Jenna's trip to the dentist was a success and she's no longer in pain.

I have some goodies to post off this weekend, hope I'm not too late for the summer challenge.

I am always amazed at the quality, amount and generosity what fantastic contributions everyone has made. My parcel will get away on Thursday or Friday of this week.
I have used up all the towels I nabbed from the camper, the bathroom, linen kist and the airing cupboard OH I also managed to cut up a bath robe, some towels destined for wet dogs in the winter and even a couple of beer mats. I will be strung up if I grab any more towels........I have however, asked my French conversational English class (ok Scottish as I am the teacher) if they had any towels, so if anyone comes up trumps I will continue to make them, if I am too late for the end of the challenge I shall just post them direct to the Algerian Action.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the summer challenge, I do feel I became a wee bit addicted to the project washables cause but that's no bad thing and I now look forward to the Autumn one........roll on the 18th July for the launch! Think thats when your announcing it Lou - and no sneaky launch early this time..........or else!
Jean in wet France today
xx

Hi Lou,
A small parcel of things is on its way to you, just posted it today. 3 hats, 3 cardis, pair of socks, and a hooded striped jumper ( I actually started this for my nephew when he was a baby, hence he is 8 now!!) Found it in a tidy up, finished it off and sent it for LH, I'm sure it will come in useful. Also I have put a donation in a envelope for postage costs for the white wool and things for my craft group.
Not much this time in parcel, but next on will be bigger, especially when we know what the next challenge is.
Hope these are ok for LH.
Cheers,
Sue. :D

Hi Lou guess what I'm still here have been awful quiet for a while, I don't have enough hours in a day at the moment. We have been very busy in the store and I have been knitting squares for South Africa,But I do have a parcel or two to send. I have just to finish a bit of border for a second Sands Blanket and Jackie has given me a pile of hats and scarves and a couple of customers have given in some new baby clothes to send. We have been working away at fundraising for our various charities and I will send a cheque to you soon for the end of the challenge to help with your costs. Will get back to normal soon I hope.

Lots of Love

Ann

:D Right onw with the updates before we start on the mammoth pile of parcels in the other room - I can feel another box filling and uplift coming on for tomorrow  Especially as I have a wonderful lady coming with her hubby on Friday to donate a pile of yarn to us - I will tell you all about her in another post

I was just coming home from last weeks meeting when I found Stephanie (Ellie) with two bemused male colleagues in her car outside my house writing a note :0) As always Stephanie has said if any of our other Glasgow knitters needs anything brought over at any time she will be happy to do it as she comes to Fife regularly for work. She is also keen to help with a Glasgow group as there are lots of Glaswegian members now and it would be lovely to have another group over there :0)

In Stephanies bag oif goodies from herself her mum and her auntie were 3 sands blankets, 13 baby cardigans and 2 baby jumpers - thanks Stephanie! xx

Image

from J Beasley in Halesowen there were 1 sun top, 4 baby hats, 4 prs bootees and 7 doggy coats - wonderful!

Image

from the G32 postcode area a parcel with no name (and a sewing up needle entangled in the contents if you are looking for it and wondered where it had got to! ;0) were 23 baby hats and 1 ball of white dk - thank you!
