Hello everyone.

It was a quiet meeting at the Bridge of Don today. There were just three of us, myself Mag and a new lady called Grace Morrison. Obviously Elaine wasn’t there, we really missed her and our thoughts are with her.

We had a nice relaxing couple of hours nattering away, eating ginger cake and drinking our tea. Mag’s two greyhounds Blue and Badger joined us and they were as good as gold, bless them.

Grace started on a green pair of fingerless gloves and was using her knitting belt. She normally makes fair-isle gloves using Shetland wool and they are just beautiful. Her mum taught her to knit when she was little and they spent lots of time together designing the fair-isle patterns and picking out the many colours they were going to use. So she’s decided to knit fingerless gloves for the group :)

Mag was busy sewing up her cardigan she’s been knitting, which has a lovely pattern to it and also sewed up Grace’s boob. Then she got to work on knitting some more of her sands blanket :)

I was working on a simple garter stitch cat blanket and then took the pictures of the donations.

Grace had knitted a boob and it was just perfect

Mag had brought along some donations from a lady called Jess Irvine who had made a beautiful blanket and three preemie hats. Jess is the niece of Jessie Bremner, Mag’s friend who donated all those wonderful crochet slippers/bedsocks at the Stonehaven meeting. Thanks Jess these are lovely :)

I had made one of my crochet animal blankets, a large one this time and a kids summer top. Both are red but look more mauve in the photos. It must have been the way the light caught the camera. You can see the colour of the top better on my flickr link.

Mag had made a lovely colourful blanket and managed to crochet a border on it, well done Mag :) She’d also made a lovely cardigan, little summer top which was really sweet with bunny buttons on it, an Oxfam jumper and two ethnic boobs.

Fantastic work as usual ladies :D

Hopefully we’ll see a few more faces at the next meeting in August – we’ll have to try and muster some more interest by then.

Apologies for the squished photos but if you click on them i promise you will see non squished versions - Alana

Still lots of donations despite only being three of you. I do like the strategic placing of the boobs in the last photo

Well done ladies.
