This week we held the meeting up at my house as the Centre was closed. We had a lovely lunch provided by Kelly and Roxanne to celebrate my 50th birthday on the Tuesday.

Present were - myself, Kelly and Roxy

Sharon

Irene, Jean, Linda and Grace

Margaret G and Maureen.

as you can see they all had a great time and I loved having my friends around me for my birthday :0)

Donations were - from Sharon her second Sands blanket - this time complete with lacey border :0)

and from Irene a wee tots hooded jacket and leggings set in baby blue - lovely set Irene xx

Our thoughts were on making toys for the new challenge so Grace had brought her Noashs Ark pattern booklet along so we could copy bits of the patterns for others to help make it up, She also brought a great wee book - One of the Australian Womens Weekly books called Knit a Square & Make a Toy - full of wonderful toys made entirely of squares sewn together. It was such a nice book and so easy to make the toys from it that I went onto ebay and amazon later to try to buy another copy - now remembering that it cost £6.99 when it was published and sold and Grace had paid £1 at a boot sale for it - you can imagine how shocked I was to find it being sold for £26.99 ! I couldn't believe it - I have since tried at a few second hand book places but they tell me that every copy of an Australian Womens Weekly book they get is snapped up by a woman who comes in every couple of weeks! She knows what she is doing!

So I have now borrowed Graces book so I can make copies of the patterns instead.

Lou - is this a current publication in Australia as I could get someone to get it for me?

Haven't got a clue Skye - it was originally published in 1996 at a cost of £6.99 so I don't know. It is a nice book - if I remember I will bring it with me when we go for lunch in South Queensferry next Friday - looking forward to it! :0) I have already filled up a couple of nice big bags with squares for you to take back over - got to make space in the office xx

Don't know why but I can't get the photos up - but I am sure everything is lovely. When I ask hubby for help, he will say it was something I did and that I am daft (can hear him now)!
