I knitted a teddy a couple of weeks ago and enjoy making them so much I cant stop and have the beginnings of quite a little family already! Its really good for using up small amounts of wool as I use one colour for feet, paws and face and 2 other colours for trousers and top plus scarf. However, I had to buy some filler and as the shop only had quite a large bag, I am going to have to carry on making more for quite a while but ........ are they really wanted?!! Also, is there a standard that has to be adherred to for inspection? I did make one Burundi bear but the ones I am making now are about 3 times the size of the little Burundi. Any comments would be welcome! :)

I'm sure your bears will be very welcome - there's a thread re Algerian Action who have recently had some toys from LH and they were thrilled with them. So I'm sure Lou will find your teddy bears lots of loving homes and hearts!

Your little teddies will soon have a loving mum or dad. Can't wait to see them all.

Those teddies do sound sweet. I can't wait to see them. It is a nuisance about the stuffing. In the past I have had to buy pillows and use the stuffing from them, as I found it cheaper, than the toy stuffing. Part of the autumn challenge we are making toys for a hospital abroad, as they have no toys for the kiddies to play with. So I know your will be loved if you can spare them

If your teddy is from the Teddies for Tragedy pattern (you start from the feet one side and end with the feet the other side and then just add arms) then yes we can use them as a toy in this Autumn challenge and I think its just the stuffing that has to be up to a EC standard with the scarf stitched down and the face put on with stitching too. I find them good for using up odds and ends of colours and of course you can always make the trousers, jumpers and scarfs in stripes too. :D Maybe after number 6 you might be getting a bit fed up  Dot
