 I have just been to Tranent today where I picked up a whole boot load of yarn from a wonderful lady called Muriel (thanks Muriel - and I still won't believe you are a day over 55 - you just can't be as old as you tried to pretend you were!).

There are cones and hanks of yarn by the bagful so if any of you would like me to send you some please let me know by pm or email with your snail mail addy attached so I can send it out. Storage alert here so need to clear space as the challenge end is nigh - only 10 days to go - and I know what happens in the latter days of a challenge so will definitely need to clear more space! xxx

Hi Lou, you can send me some hanks of wool that will do for blysthwood or childrens items, as i am bored to tears her after op, so i am knitting crazy and will gladly do things for you, might not get them done for end of challenge but im sure they will come in for next one, my ladies at the craft group are all willing to help next challenge, i have talked nicely to them and they think you do a wonderful job. Did you get my pm i sent you a day or two ago? They are threatening to a postal strike over the christmas period or before so i hope you dont loose out on donations, I have a few things that need finishing so hopefully will get them off to you asap.
Thought i wouldnt have been so sore but its the scar mainly thats the painfulist, I think its due to being cut 4x on the same scar, feel like my stomach has been stapeled to my chest!
Take care and will be in touch soon. :-)

Hi Tinyholt

Don't worry about the postal strike I think most of us are now starting to use parcels2go they are really good. I've just used them this week sent a nice large box to Lou for £6.99 and I could have still sent a lot more for that price. Sorry to hear your not feeling too great but stay on here and getting the knitting on the go to try and take your mind off the pain.

Alison xx

Brilliant - I will start packing boxes of items to get off our to you all! It works out even cheaper with Parcel2go if you have more than 4 to send at once (they take a £10 standard fee up front and then £5 a box so you need to have 4 or more to make it cheaper than the usual service. I have been waiting till I have a pile to send and doing them all at once to save money - last time there were 12 boxes all on the same day :0)

If you have any double knit in bright colours left please ?
Not black, white, brown or red

My mum would love some to knit some more of her little kids jumpers for you

Please post the wool to my address & I will give it to her next time I visit

I can donate something back to you in the next box that I send

Are you coming over yourself this time then my elusive wee munchkin? I know hubby is lovely and all that but I have one of those already and would love to meet the organ grinder in person ;0) Thanks for the Blogging about us and the knitting patterns you are designing - I am sure the ladies will be thrilled with them when you have them ready for us - you are a wee star!!!

I would be very grateful of DK wool - will check what I can make from it as I've only just signed up to the group - is it too cheeky to ask for supplies straighaway? Only it would get me going....

Yours hopefully

Jellyfish, welcome to Loving Hands - it doesn't matter if your brand newbie or oldie, I should imagine that your knitting would be appreciated by many a child in need, or any other of the causes. Just private email Lou your address (which is safer than posting it on on the forum) and she will sort you out. I asked and got four boxes of BEST QUALITY STUFF......I sent a cheque to Lou to cover the shipping and I am soooooo looking forward to it arriving (was delivered to my sister in the UK-for onward transportation to me). Work out on the patterns what you really need and what you would love to knit and send in your request, the lovely Lou will soon sort you out.

Hi Lou,

I am thinking of sending Xmas parcels with Parcels2go.
If I only send one do I still have to pay a £10 surcharge?

Confused Ellie ! x

No Stephanie - if you are just sending one you just use the normal service and if you book it after 12 noon it will cost you £7.92 for each parcel - it is only worth using the multi parcel service if you have 4 or more parcels to be uplifted at the same time xxx Hope this helps xxx
