Hi Everyone,
I was surfing about trying to find a charity knitting group for some felted socks I found as I was setting up my new textile workshop in the back bedroom (hubby calls it my sewing room...really!)
This one really caught my eye. I've discovered a plethora of wool that was stashed in all those secret places and decided I really needed to get rid of it (so I could buy more) and thought charity was the best method.

A little about me...

I am an expat from the US who has been living in England for nearly 11 years (15 October). I am passionate about all forms of hand needlework. In another life (the US), I used to knit for a designer knit shop, my wildest commission was a silk cardigan for a man. It was lush. My current obsessions when I'm not working (currently looking for a new contract), is bobbin lacemaking (I am doing the C&G coursework for it) and Japanese embroidery.

I have a wonderful English husband, three cats, two hens, and two ferrets.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and doing some superb stash reduction for great causes.

Kind regards,

Tinuviel

Hello, I've only recently joined here myself and I'm loving it.... I must warn you though, this place does nothing for stash reduction  Once you start looking through all the patterns and seeing the beautiful donations you realise that you just need a little bit more wool to get you going, before you know it the whole house has been taken over!

Hello and welcome to LH. Everyone is so friendly and love to help should you have any problems. I don't think you will need it though.

Hope you enjoy living in Malmesbury, the name brings back happy memories as I worked there for 14 years. I will be back down in the area just after 23 October and really looking forward to catching up with old friends and some new friends from LH.

Enjoy.

Mag x :)

Welcome to L H, you sound such an accomplished lady. I look forward to seeing some of your work. Have you any photos? I agree this place has done nothing to reduce my stash. I see a pattern that I would just love to knit. Then look at my list of wool and find nothing there, then go out and buy some. Only to have a little left over, so have to buy some more to use up the first bit. LOL. Never mind all we do knit and manage to send to our chief Lou. Who finds a welcome home for it in any number of charities that we knit for. Keep knitting, and sewing, we have lots of sewers among our friends. silver surfer

Thanks very much for the warm welcome ladies. I'm looking forward to getting more involved in the wish lists and challenges. So far, I'm quite impressed with all you ladies (not sure if there are any men about, don't want to be sexist or anything).

Sorry I am late in saying welcome to you. You sound a very talented lady & I am sure we can rely on extra help in sorting out problems as they crop up. Always plenty going on here ,the chat is as important as the knit/sew/crochet work. Regards , Do.

Wow this sounds like a great bunch of people! I love groups that don't take life too seriously.

If you ever get stuck, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll give it my best shot.
Cheers,
Diane

Hi,
I am another west country girl having lived in Plymouth for 7 years and now Taunton for 18, so nice to have another member from this part of the country. Welcome to LH, hope you enjoy taking part in the challenges and the friendship of the rest of the gang as much as I do. Keep your eyes open for the Winter challenge due to be announced today.
Good luck & happy knitting
Jacqui
