Hello, my name is Vanessa and I live in Northumberland.
I am so pleased to find your Loving Hands site as I have been looking for charities to crochet/knit for but have struggled as they all just seem want money.
I confess to being a sporadic crafter but would like to be able to find an item a charity wants made if im feeling creative, it will also give me ideas.
Ive seen your post for this challenge till January so I'll see what i can make in that time as Im is serious making mode for the winter!

bye for now

Vanessa

(ps... i would be greatful for any craft supplies you could manage if this is possible)

Hi Vanessa, and welcome to LH. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, and anything you make will find a good home here.

Vanessa - if you send me a pm with your full name and address details in it and let me know what kind of supplies you are needing I will make you up a nice big boxful and send it out - we usually have lots of bits and pieces lying around here - not just wool and stuffing (we have toy eyes and noses, sets of monkeys hands, feet and faces, lace trimmings, towels and sheeting and more besides just waiting to get sent out :0)

Hi Vanessa,

Welcome to LH. We're a very friendly lot, if slightly mad, and definitely knitting obsessed - but you'll sson get used to us. Hope you enjoy making things for the challenge

Hi Vanessa,
I am glad you found us too. Every little helps. Anything you make will be very gratefully received. Our chief Lou, manages to find a welcome home for all we contribule. I like knitting most, as my sewing skills are worse than my knitting. What do you like making? Welcome to L H. Look forward to hearing more about you.

Hi Silver Surfer
I'm a bit of a jack of all trades master of none! I'm crocheting at the moment but i knit, sew, patchwork and bead occasionally not brilliant at any but I enjoy myself. I'm feeling that i want to increase my skills abit and that takes practice and a goal (which will be the challenges for LH).

Hi Vanessa,
Welcome to the "family". If you're sane now we'll soon alter that. Just wait 'til you come in contact with the Twins! (maybe triplets now it seems)
I'm not brilliant at anything either but the challenge of getting things right pushes me on and when you know that someone is going to benefit from your efforts you don't mind working that little bit harder.
Good to have you on board. Relax and enjoy.

love, Barbara xx

HELLO VANESSA FROM ONE OF THE "TRIPLET TWINS". (It's a long story as to how we became twins/triplets or whatever...but we have had such fun with the whole idea!) The more you read on the forum the more I am sure all will become clear! In the meantime, welcome to you. Enjoy your crafting and above all enjoy being part of our Loving Hands group.
Love from Mad Maureen X

Hi Vanessa
Welcome to the site, albeit a bit belatedly! I'm in Northumberland too, right on the coast in the south east. I joined the site last year (I think) and had a mad knitting frenzy, but unfortunately I've been so busy with other stuff, I haven't picked up my needles for ages. Fully intend to start again now the dark nights are here again, though. I have some wool if you need any, most of it knits up as double knit, so it depends of course on what you're making. Let me know if you need any and I'll see if I can help, hopefully we're fairly local to each other.
all the best

Hi there
I'm in Blyth, so a bit further south from you - I know Seahouses and Bamburgh very well, we used to go there a lot when I was little. What sort of things are you making? Last year I made loads of scarves and hats, and some little jumpers, all of which were really quick and easy to do. Let me know if you can use any wool, I got some lovely feathery fluffy stuff which is really nice for scarves, it's very soft and knits quick on biggish needles.
Happy knitting! It's nice to find somebody reasonably close, I love this site but everyone else seems to be so far away!

Hi Vanessa, I too have just joined and I am thoroughly enjoying myself. It is addictive, last week my mother in law joined me in making squares for the flag. SUE
