IHave just read on the forum, that the Stonehaven area has floods. I do hope every body in Stonehaven is high and dry now. I have not personally seen any news about the floods. So hopefully they are not to bad. Thinking of you all. Pat.

I have now seen the terrible conditions in Stonehaven, on the BBC 6 0'clock news. My heart goes out to all my friends there. Hugs. Pat xx

Hi Pat

The floods in Stonehaven have been really bad according to the news and although areas started to dry out today if it rains more as forecast then it may bring more trouble. Mag's still away at present so i hope she doesn't come home to any problems.

I'm with you on that Alana, keeping fingers and toes crossed that Mag returns safe and sound to a DRY house - sure Lou said she was due back up the road today/tonight, so we will all find out when she gets back no doubt

Hello everyone, and thank you for your concern but we are fine up a short hill from one of the rivers that broke its banks. George took the dogs down to the river area for their run this morning and told me the river had risen about 5ft and one side completely washed away but it was about 600/700 mtrs further down the river where it runs alongside the road that all the problems started. Three bridges under water as well as half the town. Lots of folks still in hotels and out living with family, friends and even the Town Hall after homes and loads of cars flooded (damaged/unrepairable). Son Stuart phoned us Sunday night to tell us what was going on and of course I worried myself sick, had to come home without our visit to Lou. Barbara lives alonside the other river but haven't heard about that side of town so guess she is OK.

There will be another day to visit Lou, won't there.

Thanks again folks.

Mag xxxxx

hi Mag, yes, we are ok here, although the Cowie was so high along with a high tide on sunday night, it got a bit scary! The river burst its banks beside the Cowie Mill houses and then sea water came over and ran down by the swimming pool to join it and caused havoc and flooding there! But thankfully we got away lightly compared with the old town and town centre, many shops still mopping out and closed for a while yet, its heartbreaking seeing the skips filling with personal possessions though!

see you soon,
Barbara

Thank goodness you are OK. With you backing on to the Cowie and your front lower then the road, I was concerned for you down there. Great to know all is reasonably well.

Take care, see you soon.
