No idea if anyone knows of such a thing and hope I can explain what I'm looking for...

I was going to knit a baby blanket and was looking in some of my books for some motif patterns and I found some for a heart and for a flower, both done in a square with a garter edge. I haven't got any girlie coloured wool, only neutral coloured and I was wondering if anyone had any patterns for maybe a star/moon/or square or circle motif?

I hate sewing up squares so I was going to knit 4/5 square together in one straight pattern if that makes sense.

Anyone have any ideas? Hopefully I haven't confused anyone :)

I made a blanket with motif squares using dishcloth patterns (well I haven't sewn it together yet) but all the squares are done. There are loads of dishcloth patterns on knittingpatterncentral - all kinds of different motifs. You might need to adjust the number of rows or the number of stitches for the garter stitch borders, but they work really well.

Hope thats of some help....
