Thanks Ladies ,
I know my head is spinning too .Been having a real vacant brain day ,well it's actually been a few days now .The only cure i can think of is to go to the wool shop . Andrew is back from lodging away later on today ( he is a week late getting home and he's got to go back on Monday) .So i think we shall be going there this afternoon.
He is lovely though, wherever he is in the country he brings me back wool :P and Tess (the dog) gets a small bag of malteesers .
love em

Well done Lou, only getting round to checking the challenge out now and will most certainly be doing lots for the red, white and blue. George was a military person for 22.5 years so feel that I must be involved. Will try very hard to make lots of poppies and have quite a few ladies asking for wool for the Union Flag. Sure we will make Guiness Book of Records.

Mag x :)

Hi Lou,
Just got round to the new challenges and they look great, lots of interesting things to do, for all skill levels. Can't wait to see the clowns. Just off to look out my pattern books and spare wool.
Good luck to everyone. :P

Yes Neil - these challnges run to the 16th january but we will keep taking the poppies and cakes right through to June so that we can give Em and Ally as many as possible for the tour of the UK with the finished flag ;0) When you are ready to send in your donations you post them to me at HQ - Loving Hands, 18 Clentry Crescent, Kelty, Fife, KY4 0LG. we will be posting updates of totals from time to time and (once I get a spare minute) I will be posting photos and thank yous for donations as they come in as well so you can all see what is being made. Glad to have you both with us - I am sure you will enjoy the fun of the challenges and it will be nice to have the company of each other to spur you on xx

Hi Lou,
Love the new challenges and as usual a great variety of things to choose from. OH has just printed the knitted Poppy pattern off for me, but I think there is a crochet one around somewhere...hmmm will have to have a look.

I really admire these ladies for what they are doing and when they come to Birmingham I will definitely go along and support them.
The lads over there need to know they are not forgotten and we are all thinking of them, they are doing such a dangerous job.

Anne

Hi there

Have just read the challenges. Haven't done much knitting for a while so have decided to start with a square for the union jack - something nice and easy.

Hi. Thanks for the challenges Lou. They are fantastic. I will certainly be letting you have some squares for the flag - cause very close to my heart. Will also do some poppies. And whatever else I can do! :D

Hi - think I posted on wrong thread before

Lou (or anyone!!) - was wondering (pretty pretty please :D ) if I were able to send five teddies to you - they are white knitted and stuffed - just need faces putting on and stitching across the corners for the ears - I am completely useless at anything like that!! I also read (I think in Winter Challenge) that someone was going to do some craft markets - my sister and I used to do a stall selling hand made cards. However we also did a few Octopuses (or should that be Octopi ???) i knitted them and sewed up the legs and she stuffed them and sewed them together and put faces on (the creative bit really!)- I noticed you mentioned Jean Greenhowe - it is a pattern from her book - however we don't do it anymore but I still have quite a few knitted up - if I sew the legs up and send you the pattern could they be made up and sold at the craft market or given to one of the children's charities?? They stand about 8 inches tall when stuffed. I also have a large bag of stuffing I can send you to stuff them - it is fire retardant and BS approved. They are all green but with different coloured socks - mostly football team colours i.e. red and white, black and gold etc. Let me know and I will start sewing up and get them to you as soon as possible. Sorry to ramble on but want to know so that I can organise my time and have a few things to do so I can swap and change. I can also knit some more if anyone wants. Thanks soooooo much.

Lisa xx

:D Thanks so much Lou!! Have read reply - still getting used to which threads are which  !
So glad the toys will be put to good use - they have been sitting in the attic in black bags for almost two years! That's why I only have a few teddies - started doing them and then realised I wouldn't be able to finish them off!!! Thank Kelly for me in advance - from what I have read on other boards she sound fantastically gifted at finishing off
Will get the stuffing packed up next week and sent to you in advance - use it however you think fit - will probably have to send a couple of boxes though as there is quite a lot!!
Thanks again for everything - really enjoying being a part of something so special.
Lisa xx

Lisa, before you post the parcels via the post office. Look at the parcels2go web site. They very good value for money. You could send the lot for around £7. I hope this helps; I don't want to interfere, with your plans. But I DO want to save you money for more wool. LOL.
