Dear Lou,
I will definitely talk to to Ally about it .
I am not sure on exactly where the flag and exhibition will be going . I think we are all just in shock at the moment at the amount of support and offers of help . I think a cup of tea and cake session is in order to figure out where and when the flag will be going .
I am going to offer to help take it around the country a bit (and Andrew even though he doesn't know it yet ) .
It's a brilliant excuse to meet up with all you loving hands ladies all around the country.
Travel lodges are quite cheap but you can't take the dog so i will have to look for b and b's which will .Cos i can't leave my Tess behind .She is tiny Jack Russell and she sits on my shoulder like a parrot or wraps herself around my neck like a scarf when I'm knitting in bed.
When it's all finalised i will let you all know and hopefully it will be close enough for people to come.
love em

I do'nt think you will be coming near me - only a little market place but if you are near by - You could come and stay with us no problem - your little dog and mine a Westie will get on just fine.

Love

Dear Jean ,
What a good idea i never thought of that.It would be ideal for traveling around and for carrying the flag and exhibits and items to raise money.I'm sure my tiny corsa would never handle the weight !

Dear Vanessa,
Thank you so much and you allow dogs too. Thats BRILLIANT !!!. I know it's going to be a little difficult to arrange everything ,such as venues to display the flag and exhibition but i now feel the accommodation won't be as hard as i thought
Thanks for all the offers ,i can't believe how kind you all are
Love

Hi Em - I think this is such an admirable cause. I have already made 6 squares, one poppy and a heart-shaped cushion. I thought people might like to buy the cushion and have the name of their serving loved one embroidered on...or something....just an idea. I feel one of those cup cakes coming on! Although I always seem to be at work...I'll do my very best. Everyone here is behind you all the way. I, too, will be interested in the itinerary - if you're down in East Sussex, I'd love to see if I could give you a hand..but will depend if and when you're this way. Going ever faster, Lorraine & Nigel.

Dear Lorraine and Nigel,
Thank you so much for the squares and the poppy The heart shaped cushion sounds fabulous and having a name embroidered on sounds a great idea too.
As for the itinerary we are just about to tackle that monster of a job .I do hope we do come down by you and thank you for your offer of help because i think i may need it.There aren't many of us in a position ( because of work, kids and other commitments ) to be able to travel with the flag and exhibition. So planning is going to be difficult but I'm sure we will wok it out.
I would like to say thank you for your words of support and i will pass them on to Ally and Will's family.
thank you and good luck with th cupcake

Hi Em,

If you are not able to personally take the flag around perhaps in some areas you could arrange for a relay team for the items. That way local people would know their area and be able to 'hand over' to the next region.

Just a wee idea whilst multitasking!!

Am enjoying doing the poppies - they are great and quick! Wasn't sure if the blue I have is the right shade of royal for squares but will keep up for your great cause!

Ellie x

Great minds think alike Stephanie - I was going to suggest that if we have members with some spare time on your route they might like to help out with the display - selling etc. It would make it so much easier for you and we do have members in most areas of the UK now (as well as an overseas contingent that is growing as well ;0)

Funny - we are all so like minded on here. I think that's a great suggestion. Maybe you could also enlist the help of the local services around the country - from the youths to adults...I saw servicemen and women selling the poppies in London...and, because they were wearing their uniforms, they attracted an awful lot more attention. I also often see the young sea cadets promoting things. Could this work? How do you get them?

You could also ask Guides, Scouts, Airforce Cadets. They are all very good and I am sure they would have a wonderful day or days helping you.
