Do you know about http://www.ravelry.com/ I love it. It's a wikipedia all things knitting. You have your own notebook where you can keep a record of needles , yarn, patterns & more.Lots of forums , interest groups. Stored photos on http://www.flickr.com/ can be added to your notebook. You could put info about this group on it....now I must go finish knitting my wee me for my signature

Only you could call yourself after a cannon Meg! Mind you it seems very appropriate - you do cause quite a bang everywhere you go!

Hi, I joined because I want to START knitting some charity items. I'm a newish knitter and am running out of friends who want hats...
But I'm finding it difficult to work out the forum.
I would like to know what charities you are involved with - and what projects are on the go needing items locally (Scotland). I suspect that the info is here but I am not sure how to find it.
Would it be possible to put a short intro at the top of the forum explaining what it's for and how to use it? Or any rules you have that I need to adhere to?

Welcome to the Forum! If you want to get registered as a full member of Loving Hands then send me a private message or email me at charityknitters@yahoo.co.uk and give me your full name and postal address so I can add you to the members list :0)
We have lots of charities we help here - as Pam says there is a list of our charities etc on our website www.lovinghands.org.uk (although I guess that is how you found our Forum as the link to here is at the top of the website). if you click the link on the website that says charities you will see a list of the charities we work with and what we do for them. There is also a link on there to show you the latest challenges etc.
If you need any wool, needles, patterns etc just give me ahout - we do get donations and I can send some out to you to help keep you busy :0)
Don't worry we will never run out of people needing what we make here - there is always a need! :0)
I am sure you will have fun with us here at Loving Hands - the Forum is a great place to get to know the girls better too. Pop onto the topic marked Introduce Yourself and let us know a bit about who you are!

HI Lou
We both replied at the same time
I have created a new item and the top of the list on the forum index telling people to read it first.
Let me know if there is anything else we should put in there or you can put some in there too

HI Lou
I'm hoping to have more time for knitting soon
Not so much work to do now. I had a rush job for some art the other day and am finishing some off this weekend then hope to knit.
I also hope to be a bit more active on here
I might get to finish the blanket I started ages ago and send off to you
Hope you are ok

Hello Topchamp, from the Highlands. Hope you find your way around the forum soon and look forward to reading all about you in the Introduce Yourself section. We are not at all scary in fact just the opposite and of course we all like to keep the pins clicking, the needles sewing and the hooks crocheting Dot
