I've been looking at this site a lot over the last few days..And finaly decided to join you.
I'm a very keen sewer, have been sewing things on and off (by hand)
since i can remember,
I can turn my hand to most things, And am quite keen to see my efforts put to good use really looking forward to meeting you all.
I knit also but prefer to sew,(no loops to worry about) |

Thanks for that, I have bad nerves so don't really go out much,
hence the reasoning i should put my hands to good use for a change, instead of just biting my nails all day long and staring at 4 walls(gets quite boring) |

Hello and welcome Angela - as you are a stitcher I will send you out one of Suzannes starter packs to get you going. Most of the girls start off with angel pockets and burial gowns and then do some other things if they are happy to. We have some girls making receiving blankets in nice soft fabrics and we are looking into making pyjamas and nightgowns for the wee darlings in the orphanages in Eastern Europe. I am sure you won't get bored working with us :0)
I love your avatar by the way - it is ever so pretty :0) |

Hello
Pleased to meet you. I am a knitter and not very good at sewing. I always admire soemone who can sew as I am useless at it. You will find the group very friendly and helpful and it's great to be doing something useful with your spare time.
Happy sewing.
Molly

Hi Sewandso - welcome and thanks for joining us. It is a very worthwhile group and every effort is much appreciated. Glad we have people like you as I'm pretty naff at sewing. My Mum used to make me do all the repair work and as we are both short, I had to alter everything. When I got married and got away, I couldn't bear sewing and still have that dislike now. I crochet and try to go for items that can be crocheted together/made in one piece....just to avoid sewing. Having said that, sewing up items has got better and easier although I cannot stitch faces - so don't make dolls/animals and not a fan of sewing on buttons! |

Hello sew and sew, glad you've joined, you will find it addictive but all in a good cause.
We seem to be getting more sewers(like me) I'm glad they need stitchers as I can sew a lot faster than I can knit! Just seen the bit about making nightgowns/pyjamas must look into that. |
