hi everyone my name's Ann and I live just outside Balloch beside Loch Lomond in Scotland. I work as a supermarket manager and have a daughter Nicola who is nearly 17 and sitting her highers. I grew up with my aunties all knitting and could knit from an early age although I have not done much for a long time. I have been doing cross stitch for the past 2 years I enjoy it but it takes up a lot of time. looking forward to joining everyone in this great group.

Hello and welcome to you, Ann. Hope you will enjoy being "one of us". I love this forum...you really feel that you know people even though we have not met each other. I wish I lived close to Loch Lomond..I think It is beautiful there. You are so blessed to live there. We never actually stayed there but we passed through on many occasions on our trips to Scotland with our caravan. It was always a place we intended visiting but we had to sell our van when I became too disabled to continue vanning.

Razz Welcome Ann - and congratulations for being the 100th member on the Forum! Laughing Razz Very Happy Wink

I love the area around Loch Lomond - we like to holiday in the trossachs and around your neck of the woods - must look you up next time we are across in your direction! (My oldest girl used to live in Balfron and we loved to holiday around that area).

Hi Ann

My husband and I spent our (one night) honeymoon at Balloch, at a B & B called The Old Smiddy. We had a gorgeous time, and I always hoped that we might do it again, perhaps for our 10th anniversary. You are fortunate to live in such a pretty part of Scotland.

Thanks to everone who welcomed me its really brilliant. although I use computers in work I'm new to communicating online with people and its great to know that so many nice friendly people are involved in this great work. My daughter thinks i'm old fashioned she talks to all her friends online all night long. Oh well I'll just knit instead. Tried to teach her ( lost cause).

Welcome Ann. Congrats on being our 100th Forum member - it is great to see LH and the Forum growing day by day. We've got a lot of cross-stitchers here...although I'm not one of them. I'm pretty naff at sewing and those little crosses would send me boss-eyed - so never tried it. I'll stick to crocheting!
