Very Happy Hi everyone - I am Karla and I live at Dalton, near Lockerbie. I am American by birth, but have lived in the UK since I was 15. I am now married to an Englishman who has lived in Scotland since he was a small child. We have been married for nearly 9 years, and we have one small daughter, aged 6.

I joined Loving Hands because I love knitting baby things, etc and do not have any small babies in the family, so I thought it would be good to knit them for people who really need them! I like to knit, crochet, and I am an intermediate spinner and a very beginner weaver. I am a member of the Guild of Spinners, Dyers and Weavers in Dumfries. I work from home doing audiotyping over the Internet for legal firms in the south, so if I get a quiet day, I get to fit in more crafts!

I am really looking forward to being a member of the team!

Regards

Karla Grant

Crikey, you make it sound very grand. Believe me, they are a very down to earth bunch, some very nice and very talented people. I am just a very junior member, just been spinning a couple of years, and still learning!

Hi Dot

Americans do not pick up on my being American, most British people think that I might be Canadian, or perhaps from New Zealand! I lived on the Norfolk/Suffolk border from when I was 15 until I married at 34, so I did pick up a bit of a regional accent!
