I have just got a bargain bag of wool. 10 x 100g balls for £5 of James C. Brett Quick & Easy Fashion Chunky Knitting.

I can only describe it as like a white soft poodle. Gorgeous!!

I want to knit this into a lap blanket (or 2) but I am not so clever at changing patterns round to suit and what needles to use.

Any ideas or do you think it should be knitted into something else?

It is just sitting in my stash screaming at me to be knitted up !! Laughing

Laughing Mmmm sounds great! Now there should be on the ball bands an indication of what size of needles you should be using for it. Then if you want to make a lap rug you either use the corner to corner blanket pattern we all use here and work out until you either can't get any more stitches on the needles or you have used half the number of balls you want in it and then come back in again to finish. Or you can simply cast on stitches to make the right size (again ball band should say something like 20sts and 15 rows to 10cm so you would just multiply the number of stitches to make the right size and knit away till it is a square!). Good luck!

Thanks Lou. Just the info I needed. Thanks.

Will start it tonight after I have finished scraping paint of the wooden floorboards. What a pain !! Used to love decorating but it is now a chore. Reckon I would rather sit all day and knkit for Loving Hands.

Thanks for keeping us all going - you are an inspiration.

What a bargain and it sounds ideal for a lovely cosy blanket. Hope you get the pins sorted and clicking at a rate of knots Very Happy Dot
