If I am making an adults one I knit till it is about the height of me that way it wraps round fine! If I am making the kind that you put round your neck and pop through a slot to lie nice under a jacket then about half that does!

Hi Lou - I've asked on another thread here for the pattern for the boobies but thought I ask for it here, too. I would be grateful if you could email it to me. I thought I already had it but I can't find it in my recently reorganised files!
It's SUCH a shame there are no challenges for 2, 3 or 4-ply 42" jumpers - I was REALLY looking forward to spending the rest of the summer, the autumn and the winter making one!

I'm looking forward to getting involved in these challenges, can you point me in the right direction for a boob pattern.
I like that there are lots of different things for all types of skills.

Oh, please, Lou - no personal challenge for me unless it's a square in chunky wool on big needles! Thanks for the pattern and entry form. Just have to think of a name for my boobie! do you want them stuffed or will that put your daughter out of a job?

If they are entries for the competition then yes send them in complete and ready for the judges - you can still send in the normal ones for tommee tippee unstuffed to save on postage though if you want to :0)

I haven't tried knitting a scarf or anything for an adult yet, although some of my first baby hats came out a bit on the large side as did some of my bootees! Will knit a scarf for the challenge and see how it turns out.

Ella hope you don't mind me mentioning this but do you think you may be a loose knitter? I am and my things used to come out a bit big. I always use a size smaller needle than it says and now they come out OK.
I am going to try a scarf as I haven't knitted anything "grown up" yet

Thanks for the tip, I don't think I'm a particularly loose knitter, but there's no doubt that some of my baby things have turned out on the large size. I'll try using smaller needles and see if it improves! Started the scarf last night.

Looking forward to getting involved in this challenge. As I mostly crochet I reckon blankets would be my best donation. I am going on holiday to Donegal on Saturday and cant decide on how much wool to pack. It is apparently going to "bucket" so I plan on taking a "few" balls and complete a few blankets. Kids can have bonding time with their dad and I can just relax and crochet away.
Happy days,
Cherryl xx

Just looked at the challenges - still knitting for prems, sailors etc and also just finished a school V necked sweater in Royal Blue, hope it's OK.
My husband has just noticed I'm knitting baby clothes and said he would be contacting the press !!!! I did inform him not to be so silly - at my age !!
I've sent 2 parcels today - hope they reach you safely.

Have knitted a scarf, am now knitting a ribbed hat for a 7-10 year old to go with it. It's a bit of a slog in k2 p2 rib and seems to be taking ages to grow!. Got a bit bored with it so last night started matching mittens. Does anyone find that when they make 1 stitch it looks a bit holey? Am I doing something wrong?

Are you knitting into the back of the stitch you are making Ella? that usually takes care of the holey effect :0)

I am knitting into the back of the stitch, but am obviously doing something wrong. Will have another try.
