Should someone set up a Ravelry group? We could share the projects we make for Lovinghands that way and we might be able to recruit some more members too. I have found a UK charity knitting group and gave Lovinghands a plug there, also any projects that I make for Lovinghands I put the web address in the "Made For" box incase someone finds us that way.

For those who don't know Ravelry www.ravelry.com is a knitting & crocheting website where you can store all your projects, yarns, patterns etc, to organise them & share them with other people. You sign up and then have to wait for an invite, I think my invite took about 2 weeks to come through, so it isn't instant....

Anyway, an idea to ponder upon....

Tahra

we do have loving hands on ravelry and have had new members through it - mind you when I signed in I had to wiat around 6 months to get on as there was such a huge waiting list back hen. We used it to publicise our knit in the park last summer as well which was geat fun and a way to attract ne members :0)

On Ravelry I am lovinghands just listed as a member not as a goup but I post things that refer to our group and what we do when ever I can. :0) If we can have a group listed as ourselves on there it would be great too. There is a charity knitting group on ravelry which I have been posting on, I also belong to the fife council group, 2 scottish groups and wwkip day group. I have never had the time to sit and post my stash, projects etc on it like some hardened members do :0)

Yeah I think its pretty easy to set up a group but you have to have 3 members to invite to it. If you click on the groups tab then click "start a group now", you then have to enter a few basic details.

I'm waiting for my invitation - it's only 2 days - so once I am in, I would be interested in setting up a Loving Hands group. Anne

I've been on Ravelry for a while now but must admit that I hadn't visited it for ages. I've just had a look, especially at the freebie patterns (!), and there are loads of good patterns there, some for baby items. I've never seen Loving Hands on there, though. I shall keep checking in there once a week from now on - it's just finding the time, isn't it?

Hope everyone's new year has got off to a good start.

Kathy

Don't search under groups. lovinghands is listed as a person (ie: Lou) - that's how I found it anyhoo - slap me sideways if I'm wrong!!

:0)correct Rosie - no need for slapping here sideways or any other way! :0) I joined Ravelry as an individual - didn't have a clue as to how big it was or wha would be on it at that point :0) I have joined several groups since then and post a lot of comments that refer to us (have got sme new members from there as well so they must read my comments :0) I wouldn't have taken on running another Forum or group myself anyway - keeping you lot of insaniacs in check is hard enough for an old bird with one eye ;0)

As I said though it would be fine with me if anyone sets up a group on Ravelry for us as Jenn has done on Facebook :0)

Hi, I've just joined Ravelry - I am VegAnnie there - and would be happy to support a group there, but am not up to the responsibility of running it. Anne

I'm ClaireA on Ravelry.

I frequent lots of groups though haven't been on it as much (or this forum) because of computer problems.

Do you need moderators as well to start a group?

Claire

Lou, I'm on Ravelry all the time and I know Chaarley is too. I can set up a group and put you in as a moderator.
