Hi, I have just found this pattern, that I thought might be OK in red white and blue. Either as a toy, or cat toy if stuffed with catnip. But how thick is 12 ply? with size 6mm needles should knit up quickly.

12ply is chunky. Hope it helps.
Can you suggest where to by catnip if I do a few aswell please.
Also do not forget instead of buying chunky wool just use 2 strands dk.

That is where I buy it for Toffee Alana - he loves it! I buy the powdered sort to sprinkle on all his new toys before I give them to him as well!

You can also get dried Valerian root off the internet or from health food stores, it has the same kind of effect as catnip. Apparently rats like it as well if anyone has any pet ones. My sister is into herbal medicine and spiritual healing, just in case any of you wonder how i know this x
