Thanks for all your good wishes - their relationship is serious - they already have two daughters! I think he wants to be first being the eldest as my other son has been with his girlfriend a while and it's looking like there may be another one if all goes well.

Have just posted a parcel to you Lou, but I think it won't get there until Monday. I forgot DHL don't normally deliver on Saturdays. :( Never mind, better late than never.

 Right - I had a lovely time on Friday morning - got up early and baked a cake (had to be done - it has become the done thing for me to greet members and friends with home baking so didn't want to disappoint). I had a visit from a lovely lady called Roie (short for Rodemary apparently) and her hubby Paul. (You'll never guess Portsmouth groupo but they used to live in Cosham - isn't it a small world! - Now living in Wester Hailes so closer to me :0).

Roie had been selling a lot of handknitted and crocheted items through ebay and Etsy but her dream has always been to have a wool shop. She has finally decided to bite the bullet and is setting up an online yarn store selling lovely natural fibres etc. She is in the process of designing the web site right now and Paul brought along his camera and took about 100 photos of lots of our finished items (along with rather a lot of Toffee and Jenna :0) as they are planning to make us their chosen charity and will be putting links to our web site on theirs :0)

Roie brought along 3 big bags of yarn she had leftover as she was trying to clear space before her new stock arrives along with a bag of fabric, ribbons, threads and some clothing her sons had grown out of. There were also a whole pile of finished items she donated to our causes :- 2 kids cardigans, 1 kids waistcoat, 3 blankets, 3 scarves, 2 flower brooches, 2 prs handwarmers, 1 pr bootees, 10 kids hats and 1 bag. She also donated a sewing machine and a knitting machine for any members that would like to use them - wow Roie - thank you so much. We really enjoyed your visit and meeting you both - I really think you should get Paul a kitten - he was quite taken with our little Toffee ;0)

Right three parcels that came in Friday now - I will pick up th eposted ones on Monday morning :0)

from Dr H Piercy we had 64 pads, 16 covers, 8 bags, 4 blankets, 6 prs shorts, 3 skirts and 2 dresses - thank you so much Dr Piercy - these are fantastic - I loved the stretchy fabric you used to make the bags - I am sure our Suzanne will be very impressed when I drop these off to her this afternoon :0)

Image

from Jane Wright we had 1 sands blanket, 1 animal blanket, 2 kids jumpers, 1 kids slipover and £5 towards the postage fund - thank you Jane - don't be so modest your knitting is just perfect - I loved the wee slipover the colours were so nice together xx

Image

and finally from our very own Mad Maureen we had a knitting dvd, 2 sands blankets, a pattern, 8 kids tops, 1 baby cardigan, 2 boobs - and from her cleaning lady a wee baby dress and hat - thank you both very much ladies.

Image

our dear Maureen lived up to her mad image and had had a 'Bob' moment - she sent in a photo of a policeman from yesteryear holding a whole armful of straw helmets - Mo's note said that she was a bit like Granny Do's dear Bob and at first glance had thought the Policeman was holding an armful of boobs. I can see what you mean Maureen - too many Pernods I guess :0)

Image

right off to update the totals and then make a nice shiny new Autumn Challenges section for the forum - oh isn't this exciting :0)

 Here is the lovely email I got from Emma today - as you can see she is over the moon with the donations we are sending her way. I have four more boxes of clothes and a mountain of st sets to send her down this week as well so she will be even more impressed then :0) She seems to be doing a great job too :0)

Dear Lou,

Just to let you know that the boxes arrived safely.

Yet again everything is superb. I have had so much fun looking at everything and I know that the Children in Algeria will just love wearing their new clothes!

It's really great to hear that you have included the project in your next challenge. I'm sure that with the help of loving hands we will be able to give some fabulous toy's to the children's ward at the Mustapha Hospital in Algiers, at least then they will have something to play with.

Please pass on my thanks to the rest of your team-they are all doing fantastic work!

I have added pictures to the website so if you get a chance please take a look.

Best wishes as always, Emma
