 Here we go girls better late than never - doing a massive catchup this morning so I can get o this afternoon with Kelly and open the 32 parcels and boxes that are piled up in the living room as I type! I picked them up on my way back from the hospital yesterday and when I got home 3 more had been delivered by courier so we are going to be busy bees today ;0) The postmaster is getting used to it now - he asked if it was end of challenge time again :P

At this meeting we had myself, kelly, Gladys, Isabel, Grace, Jean, Margaret C, Liz, Maureen, Linda and Sharon.

Liz had come over from the other side of the Bridge to drop off the things she has been making and told us about her mum who is now crocheting again after having a stroke and going into a nursing home. We sent her away with a big bag of dk for mum to work away with - it is such good therapy for a housebound person and will get the strength back into her 'weak' side if she keeps crocheting ;0) I think Liz was glad she came (well she did say nice things about us on this forum when she joined up so we couldn't have created too bad an impression - I think we behaved ourselves well that day!

Donations were great too -

from Maureen we had 6 scarves :D

from Jean we had a lovely kids slipover

from Grace another Sands blanket - you are doing well Grace - the totals are slowly rising!

from Margaret C two lovely kids cardies :P

and from Liz a huge bag of contributions - what a busy lady! 4 Sands blankets, 16 baby cardigans, 8 baby hats, 3 prs bootees, 5 prs mittens and 2 burial gowns - well done!

Image

finally - from Kate we had another lovely set - a childs shirt with a lovely knitted top all made up onto a hanger - very professional!

This meeting also saw Gladys announce the results of her guess the dolls birthday competition - the money raised came to £99.50 - a wonderful amount and the ladies had a vote and decided that £50 of that would be donated to the central postage fund and the balance would be spent on wool for the group. A huge thank you to Gladys for dressing the doll and donating the other two toys as prizes as well and also to Kate for donating the chocolates and setting up a display and selling dates in the local post office!
