Can't believe it - I am actually posting this on time!

We had another great meeting last night, loads of donations and loads of laughter. A few girlies couldn't make it but joining me was Barbara, Jackie, Rebecca, Ingrid, Jennifer, Georgina, Margaret and Hilary.

Jackie was back last night with the ikea bag filled to the brim. She has been excused for her absenteeism last week as she brought the most gorgeous pavalova I have ever tasted.

Georgina completed these vests for knit a square and hubby completed his hats (he promises to do 7 a week):

We are off now for the next two weeks as it is the "July fortnight" over here and we decided it was the better option to have a wee break.

I got a copy of the newsletter from Knit a Square and the vests that Jackie completed for their appeal were featured as a donation. I was delighted to learn that our donations and will be put to good use.

Take care over the holidays and I will see everyone on the 23rd.

Beautiful, colourful donations ladies. Jackie, you produce so much, do you ever stop to eat???

Is there a pattern on here somewhere for those little jumpers that Barbara made? They are very pretty.

Loved the little crochet drawstring hats too!

Don't know why that wouldn't work but here is the top notch pattern. Please note this is an american pattern and needs to be converted:

Materials: ½ to 1 oz of baby sport yarn, depending on size of hat (for newborn or larger you may use sport or worsted weight and a size G hook if you wish – don’t worry too much about exact sizes, babies come in all sizes!!) Models made with Red Heart Soft Baby and Caron Cuddlesoft; F hook for preemie sizes. Pattern: Chain: 26 for extra small preemie hat; 36 for small preemie hat; 46 for a med. preemie hat; 40 (with a G hook and sport yarn) for a large preemie/small newborn; 45 (with a G hook and sport or worsted weight) for a newborn
45 (with a H hook and sport worsted weight) for 0-3 mos.

Row 1: Dc in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain across. Chain 2, turn.

Row 2: Dc in 2nd dc from hook (chain 2 counts as first double crochet here and throughout) and in each stitch across, ch 2, turn.

Repeat row 2 until you have 13 rows for extra small preemie size

14 rows for small preemie size
14 rows for med. preemie size
18 rows for large preemie/small newborn
18 rows for newborn size

To finish: fold vertically (as you would a piece of bread for a half sandwich, so that the short ends are at the top and bottom)

Take a piece of coordinating or matching yarn and weave through the stitches 5 (or 6 for the larger sizes) rows from the top, pull tight to gather and tie in a bow. Turn up first couple of rows of brim on bottom.

Thanks for the links, I know I could knit the jumper and I think on reading the pattern for the hat I could even do that even though I have not progressed from double crochet blankets with a scalloped edge.

Will definintely give these two patterns a go.

I just love all the beautiful work you have done. Can you tell me how to make those terrific “woven” look blankets. Are they knitted or crocheted? I hope they are knitted, as I don’t think my crocheting is good enough yet. A very envious Silver Surfer.

Apologies Silver Surfer but the interwoven blankets are crocheted. The pattern is in the pattern section of the forum but believe me it is easy. The grid and strips are all double crochets and the frill is trebles. Go on give it a go, trust me it is basic.
