Hello girls
You'll be pleased to know that 'the bag lady' is back from her daughter's and has already made 8 more zimmer bags! I have now taken over the sun lounge as my 'bag' room- driving Sid mad but who cares!
I am so pleased that the idea for bags has gone down well and that they are making so many people happy.
Unfortunately I haven't really got a pattern, as Lynn says I make it up as I go, according to the material. I am sure that seeing the photos will help others make their pattern up too. Basically they are about 18" wide x 12" deep with handles approx 10" long.
I do knitting in the evenings, so that has not been neglected. I just neglect the housework and my other half!!! I have managed to watch tennis at the same time though.
Well, back to the sun lounge.
See you all next week
Pauline

Even more lovely things. The bags are fantastic and will be so useful to people. I loved the piggy too! So glad that the group is thriving so well.

Hi Abi and all the girls in the Portsmouth Group.
There's good news and bad - firstly :) the yarn that Abi gave me last time was excellent. Do you know what it was? I made two soft chemo caps from it. Now the bad news - :( I will be in Guernsey on Wednesday to visit my sister so am not able to bring them in. As we thought Lou might like these I will send them direct to her.
Hopefully I will be with you for the meeting on the 22nd.
Best wishes to all
Jean

You have been a busy girl Jean. Shame we won't see you next week but do have a lovely time in Guernsey. Marion won't be able to make it either as she has double booked.

See you on 22nd.

Hi Jeannie

You have been busy. The yarn i gave you was Sirdar Breeze. I think it may be discontinued line, but i think their calico one is similar. I like knitting with it too.

Sorry that you wont be at the next meeting, but hope you enjoy seeing your sister in Guernsey.

Take care

Love Abi x

I am sorry about your thrombosis problems, Maureen, and hope it can be sorted soon. At least the flight to Guernsey isn't too far so maybe one day you will be there.

I am so impressed with all that beautiful work. Lilacarmadillo, would you ask the lady who crocheted the Kimo hat, how she made the flower. It’s just what I need to jazz up some hat I am making for our local Neo natal unit. Those Bags are just great; I am not surprised they all got sold. Brilliant work. S S

That was our Jeanie's work. If she doesn't post a reply herself then I will certainly ask her when we meet on Wednesday. It was pretty wasn't it?

I managed to escape from the refreshment kiosk at the fete yesterday - just for 15 minutes - and in that time saw 2 lovely hand made bags being put to good use by their new owners. :)

Post subject:  Crochet flower

Hello silver surfer,
I am glad you like the flower on the chemo hat.
It is quite simple to crochet - chain 3 or 4 and slip stitch into a ring then chain about 10 then dc into ring. This will make one petal then do as many as you like into the ring until you have a suitable flower. I finished off by stitching a button over the centre ring and fastening to hat.
Hope it works for you
Jean
