Thanks for the Aldi reminder Lou. I was very good and only bought one pack of bright red DK :D Left some for the other knitters in Inverness  Dot

Is the Aldi wool offer going to be a regular thing, or was it one of their special 'weekly' offers?

They normally get it in once or twice a year - I always get Zandra to warn me in advance so I can pass on the info to all you stash hungry members :0) I went in and picked up over £100 worth for the Kelty group on Thursday - Zandra had put it aside in the office so my trolley was piled high with yarn by the time I left the shop :0) I love the green in the DK it is a gorgeous shade :0)

Ron liked the green too Lou. Maybe he fancied a sweater for himself. I should give him lessons in how to knit  He is very patiently working on a Readicut butterfly rug which we thought would make a nice present for Moya at Christmas. He has to follow a chart as the canvas is not patterned, but he is getting on very well and it should look really pretty when finished. :D Dot

Just found a great place called Nifty Needles in Linlithgow - I shouted as we drove past it, we stopped, and 15 minutes later I had a huge armful of wool and a dozen buttons for £14! Nice stuff, too - Wendy's, Sirdar, and Patons. Thoroughly recommend it.

Hi

got my large bag of wool from kemps - speedy delivery - although comes in clear plastic bag so everyone and the world knows what you've bought. Ordered a couple of each fashion wool I liked the look of (well actually there was about 50+ balls of wool when I checked! )but at these prices still came in very cheap - the most I paid for a 50g ball was 78p as opposed to about £3 in shops for same. I have made some gorgeous teddy bears which I will donate to our local ambulance/fire crews in the north east on loving hands behalf - if OK with Lou. - Hi-Dell

don't forget to tell me ho wmany and which crews you give them too so we don't accidentally duplicate and give more to the same crews :0)

Wilkinsons are good for baby wool, I found out today - went it to get some dog treats and came out with a rather large shopping bag!

White, cream, blue, pink and pale green DK - very soft and good value at £1 for 100g I think.

Our LYS here in Carrickfergus has their summer madness sale on, they have their 100g of DK on for 95p - loads of colours and endless possibilities.

I have taken the opportunity and stocked up (probably will stock up again and again and again at that price).
