Thanks Mad Maureen, I suppose I am a bit of a worrier regards the photos but it used to be so much easier to put them on the forum before the board changed. I have to admit that this time I was dreading putting them on and was only going to post my Flickr link!

Great donations again girls, thought the named bags were a good idea too. :D The clown looks great and maybe not too difficult. Is the pattern somewhere on the forum :?: I may have a go at one before the Winter Challenge ends. Keep up the good work. Dot

Hi Maureen
The web site for the rolypoly clown is www.joyfultoys.bravepages.com - As usual I adapted it slightly in that I used one strand of DK and 4 ply for the head, making it slightly smaller than the 11". You will have to adjust the needle size too - I used 9 and 12 needles. It is very easy!
The clown that Sue made was from Jean Greenhowe's 'Traditional Favourites'.
I have made a start on one of these too- so far so good.
Happy knitting
Pauline :D

Fab photos of the donations :D

I like the clowns without legs like "weebles" that wooble, but dont fall down

I can see some of the beautiful animals are on the Algerian action site
The lovely tortoise & giraffe

Maureen- I think it is me who needs to go to Specsavers!!! - I gave you the link to the rolypoly clown but you asked for the NON rolypoly  Call it a 'senior moment' or 'old timers' !!
I based my clowns on another one of Jean Greenhowes patterns - a book called Knitted Toys which I borrowed from the library.
By the way, have you made the giraffe yet? I saw the yellow one on Algerianaction - well, the tail of it!
Hope all is well with you now.

It was me who wanted the roly-poly clown pattern, Pauline, I thought I would be able to manage to knit that as it doesn't look too difficult :D Thanks for the link, I have now copied out the pattern to add to my ever increasing folder  Dot

Did not matter...I knew the J. Greenhowe clown looked familiar. (I have that pattern but did not know where it was to be found, so you saved me a search!) The roly poly one is just great . THANKS! I am going to try to get both done as well as all my other "Want -to-dos) Have not started the giraffe yet as I have been hitting other deadlines..... all of which I am, sadly, bored with now. Still helping local Age Concern after their knitted items were stolen
