Hello ladies

Just a sneaky post here to put up a photo of our new room (and one of Mazzy) I have taken photos of all the donations too but I will wait until Abi has written up about tonight's meeting first.

Image

Left right, Pauline, Mazzy, Julie, Molly, Sheila, Sue and Abi.

Abi then took the same one again but with me sitting in her chair!

Image

And I couldn't resist this one of Mazzy demonstrating Pauline's fun finger puppets.

Image

Good night for now, more to follow soon.

A quieter evening this week, but at the height of the summer holidays (although very wet) not a surprise.

As you will see from the pictures I was joined last night by Lynn, Pauline, Marilyn, Julie, Molly, Sheila and Sue. :D

The donations continue to flood in, as you will see from Lynns pictures later, and some fantastic toys for the challenge (I love Julie's lion and Pauline's tortoise). We've kept some of the baby stuff for our local hospital who were over the moon with our last lot of donations, and also a few bits to add to our winter donation for the Alzheimers Day Centre here including Sheila's hat and gloves set and Marilyn's blanket. :D

Pauline brought some of her lovely apple cake again, so Molly could get to try it out and we all enjoyed some of that with our tea. I had a mad moment and made some sweeties, some butter tablet and marshmallows, to fatten us all up a bit. Recipes on their way Elaine!

Thanks for a lovely evening ladies :D I look forward to the next meeting on the 9th September and hopefully seeing Jeannie, Marion, Margaret and Chrissy there... and hopefully very soon we'll get to meet Sue A and Sally :D

Here are the rest of the photos from last night.

Molly had made this little top, a scarf and hat set and two more baby hats. All this whilst wearing her nurses hat looking after Phillip!

Image

Sheila who is now recovering well from her cataract op had made a pair of socks, a scarf and gloves set, five colourful boobs and had added a pack of face cloths for the shoe boxes.

Image

Pauline had been very busy again creating lovely toys, this is the first of three photos of her work.

Image

She also made these lovely blankets, a beautiful hat, scarf and mitts set, some stripey mice and the finger puppets.

Image

and..... even more things, this lovely bag and 14 others!! These will go to Marilyn for the hospice or other charity group fetes.

Image

Our Julie made these three delightful toys, I love the lion

Image

My contribution was a scarf, two hats and a small cardigan

Image

Abi had made this little body warmer and tiny bootees and Sue had made this pretty little cardigan.

Image

And my final photo, Marilyn made these two lovely blankets and hats and bought the crochet blanket from another charity fete to give to LH.

Image

Chris sends thankyous to Pauline and Abi for the cake and sweets sent home to him. He feels very spoilt.

Great work ladies.

Hi Everyone

Thanks for a great meeting last night. It was good to get back and nice to meet our new member Sue. The apple cake was so good and well worth waiting for as was the marshmallows and tablet. Thank you Pauline and Abi.

Once again, lots of beautiful donations and it really makes you feel proud when you see them photographed so well thanks to Lynn.

I thought the new room was excellent and there is still plenty of room for expansion when we need it.

When I think of that really cold February night when Abi, Lynn and I first met I am so pleased that the group has flourished and that we have made so many more good friends.

Happy knitting everyone and enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend.

Molly

You look a really happy group, great room and lots of lovely donations. Love all the toys - something about toys brings a smile to my face. Must get back to knitting some more. Well done everyone!

Yes, another great meeting last night, thankyou - we even got some knitting and crochet done (between the cups of tea, cakes and sweets) !
A good idea of Lynn's to photo the donations at the meeting - they have come out really well, Lynn.
Have started on the next project already - no housework today!
Look forward to seeing everyone again in 2 weeks. Have a good Bank Holiday (dare I say - the last one before the Big 'C'! )
Pauline X

What amazing donations, the toys are fantastic. They must take a lot of time and effort. I love the little kangaroo with the joey. Keep up the good work ladies

Hello Abi and all group members -
It sounds as if you had yet another joyful evening (I won't comment on the gorgeous goodies - just jealous I guess).
I am sorry I wasn't there and that I didn't tell you in advance. I was busy with visiting family and I couldn't even get at the computer to email you! I must confess that due to feeding and entertaining 4 extra this week there hasn't been much time for knitting etc!
Tuesday I go off on a week's holiday and hopefully will be at the next meeting.
I was glad to see Julie's lion on display with its lovely yellow mane, it was worth all the effort!
Love, Jean
